Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Engineer \u2013 Breakwater<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Senior Engineer \u2013 Breakwater is part of the construction supervision group and focuses on the marine works sector of the programme.<\/p>\n<p>The Senior Engineer \u2013 Breakwater for marine works supervises construction by the Design-Build contractor who is executing the works under a FIDIC Yellow Book contract.<\/p>\n<p>The Senior Engineer \u2013 Breakwater reports to the Engineer\u2019s Representative for Marine Works who reports to the Engineer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TheSenior Engineer \u2013 Breakwateris responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raising concerns to the attention of the Engineer\u2019s Representative<\/li>\n<li>Participating in progress meetings with contractors<\/li>\n<li>Supervising the work of the contractor with particular attention to HSE, quality, project progress, progress payments and changes.<\/li>\n<li>Alerting the Engineer\u2019s Representative of change in project progress, potential changes and the need for decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the implementation of the Quality Management System.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly) and ad hoc reports and project metrics.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the project controls and commercial teams in assessing impacts of proposed changes of scope, schedule and cost.<\/li>\n<li>Participating in project\/program risk assessment activities and reviewing a project-level risk register.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the Design Manager in the review of the contractor\u2019s design of the works.<\/li>\n<li>Obtaining support from the Quality Manager in implementing the quality assurance procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the Project Controls staff in assessing progress against programme and earned value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 1 year of experience in breakwater construction.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience on marine works construction sites.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 8 years of experience in civil infrastructure industry.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the employ of a construction contractor is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to implement quality assurance systems in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to recognize worksite hazards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personality Attributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focused on client delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana due to nationality or eligibility to obtain a work permit is a requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate in Civil Engineering or related discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
