Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Cocoa Manager \u2013 West Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n The role will be responsible for cocoa related activities in the region with focus on Ghana and Ivory Coast. The person will be a procurement and business analyst in the cocoa category and should have the capabilities of analyzing market data, understand the local markets and developments in the cocoa and related sectors and provide quality service to all key stakeholders.<\/p>\n Additionally, the position is the link between the Global Commodities, Sustainability and R&D teams and MDLZ-Cadbury businesses in Ghana and Nigeria.<\/p>\n The person will provide commercial input into origin programs, particularly on farmer training, input supply and supply chain development. Furthermore, it will provide local procurement support, especially in managing supplier relationship.<\/p>\n The West Africa Cocoa Manager should have four clear areas on involvement going forward:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Managerial and technical lead on cocoa crop forecasting and model<\/p>\n \u2022 Cocoa commercial activities and conversations representing Taloca or CPRM<\/p>\n \u2022 Linking into the Global CPRM & support the delivery of the Cocoa Life program in Ghana,<\/p>\n \u2022 Drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Ghana Cocoa Life operations<\/p>\n The operation is mainly a Cost Centre, with an estimated expenditure of $ 400K per year.<\/p>\n The main responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Lead and manage the various field teams for cocoa trekking\/monitoring operations, collection of data<\/p>\n \u2022 Analyse data and provide regular and timely cocoa fundamental reports to the CPRM team<\/p>\n \u2022 Act as a link to key cocoa players with entities like Barry Callebaut, OLAM, ECOM or CARGILL, COCOBOD \/ CMC in Ghana and CCC in the Ivory Coast<\/p>\n \u2022 Ability to network with all stakeholders (government agencies, cocoa traders, processors, NGO\u2019s, civil society and businesses in the region)<\/p>\n \u2022 Provide commercial and technical support to the Cocoa programs both within the Company and industry led programs in the region.<\/p>\n \u2022 Provide commercial and technical support to the Cocoa Partnership Program \/ Cocoa Life and overall sourcing programs<\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise the contracting and management of local partners<\/p>\n \u2022 Supervise the Cocoa Life team HR<\/p>\n \u2022 Build and maintain beneficial partnerships and relations with national platform to benefit Cocoa Life<\/p>\n \u2022 Lead of technical part of Cocoa Life Program (managerial responsibility stays with Ghana Program Dir.)<\/p>\n a. guide and instruct the local Cocoa Life team members to create an efficient and effective working environment<\/p>\n b. technical assistance and reporting on yield monitoring on cocoa farms<\/p>\n The role will require strong leadership, communication skills and ability to maintain close contact and relationship within cross functional teams.<\/p>\n Key outputs of the role will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Weekly\/Monthly Crop Reports to the CPRM Team<\/p>\n \u2022 Updates on country \/ regional developments<\/p>\n \u2022 Monthly financial reports on expenditure<\/p>\n \u2022 Monthly inputs to the Risk Management review meetings<\/p>\n \u2022 Other research together with Cocoa CPRM Analyst as cocoa processing or Chemical input\/usage information<\/p>\n \u2022 Financial planning and budgeting<\/p>\n \u2022 Regular updates on industry developments<\/p>\n \u2022 Quarterly crop and yield reports for Cocoa Life yield monitoring program stakeholders<\/p>\n Knowledge: including education, qualifications and training<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Graduate Education<\/p>\n \u2022 Technical Education (Agriculture or Horticulture)<\/p>\n \u2022 Communication in English, Influencing stakeholders<\/p>\n \u2022 PC Skills (MS Office)<\/p>\n Skills\/Leadership Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Accountable, aggressive and adaptable \u2013 able to deliver, be innovative and work with speed and be passionate about the work<\/p>\n \u2022 Collaborative and Forward thinking \u2013 able to take decisions with long term view and keeping organisation\u2019s interest in mind, besides working with teams from different backgrounds, countries, cultures, etc<\/p>\n \u2022 Motivating and growing people \u2013 able to take the best out of the team, and other around you, as well as inspiring them to achieve the goals, and targets<\/p>\n \u2022 Analytical skills \u2013 able to forecast, budget, analyse and develop reports \u2013 both crop related as well as financial related to the branch and business<\/p>\n \u2022 Project Management skills \u2013 able to handle new projects, execute them and enable to track, monitor and report progress<\/p>\n \u2022 Relationship Management \u2013 ability to manage relationship both internal and external, which are crucial to the organisation.
