For more information, please see: www.resourcegovernance.org.<\/p>\n<p><b>Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Ghana Country Program Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NRGI seeks a full-time Ghana Country Program Manager to coordinate and oversee the implementation of NRGI\u2019s activities with a variety of agents of change in Ghana: decision makers in parliament and the government, as well as civil society actors, media, and the Public Interest and Accountability Committee. This position will be responsible for ensuring synergies between NRGI\u2019s various projects at the country level, responding to the changing environment and seizing opportunities for engagement.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana country portfolio includes work with various stakeholders to promote the more effective management of Ghana\u2019s mineral and petroleum resources, including through capacity development, technical assistance and the provision of policy advice to Ghana\u2019s parliament, the Public Interest and Accountability Committee, the executive, civil society and media, and through support to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) process. This position is a unique opportunity to work across multiple different stakeholders, to broker dialogue and improve good governance in the natural resource sector.<\/p>\n<p>The position will be based in Accra, Ghana, where NRGI\u2019s Africa regional office is located. The post will report to the Africa Deputy Director, also based in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><b>Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">Lead the coordination of the Ghana country program implementation and the country program team, including coordinating across different activities with an eye toward synergies to enhance our impact at the country level;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Lead in the development and tracking of a country work plan<\/li>\n<li>Seek out synergies between regional programmes and opportunities for collaboration amongst NRGI offices<\/li>\n<li>Foster relationships with key agents of change \u2013 ranging from media to civil society to policy makers in governments and parliament to ensure a demand driven, responsive program of support and broker dialogue across actors;<\/li>\n<li>Support as needed to develop and deliver targeted trainings to a variety of stakeholders, drawing on the organization\u2019s expertise and resources;<\/li>\n<li>Strategically monitor developments on the ground and identify opportunities to increase our impact through tailoring our programmatic work;<\/li>\n<li class=\"JHover\">Identify and engage experts\/advisors both internal and external on oil, gas and minerals for technical assistance on draft legislation, regulations and policies;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Lead monitoring and evaluation of the Ghana program to distil lessons learnt and share learning within the organization, with implementing partners and donors, as well as the broader network of oil, gas and mining stakeholders in Ghana;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Provide specific support to our projects focused on the Public Interest and Accountability Committee;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Manage the program\u2019s administrative tasks, including drafting narrative reports, tracking activity expenditures, monitoring the program budget and assisting in drafting quarterly financial reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, skills and experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"\">Minimum bachelor\u2019s degree; preferred masters degree in relevant field (economics, political science, law, public administration, development studies etc.);<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">At least five years\u2019 experience in running and managing projects in an international development context;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Experience with different stakeholders \u2013 media, government, parliamentary and civil society capacity development and network building in low income countries (prior experience with stakeholders in Ghana a plus);<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Prior knowledge of Ghana\u2019s extractive sector, governance and transparency context and development issues is desirable;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment is required;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Experience in conducting project impact monitoring and evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to interact and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders and manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage a team to coordinate and leverage different competencies;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Strong attention to detail;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Excellent communication, writing and analytical skills;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Strong oral presentation skills;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and to work independently;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Integrity and professional discretion;<\/li>\n<li class=\"\">Pleasant, diplomatic manner and disposition in interacting with colleagues and the general public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> Commensurate with experience (full-time position)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) is a non-profit policy institute and grant-making organization that promotes the responsible management of oil, gas and mineral resources for the public good.
