Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Health, Safety &amp; Security Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Health, Safety &amp; Environment Manager (HSSM) is part of the Programme Management group which is the senior leadership team of the Programme Management Consultant.<\/p>\n<p>The HSSM will develop and supervise a team of HSS discipline staff (environmental manager, project-specific safety managers and on-site safety inspectors).<\/p>\n<p>The HSSS is responsible for programme-wide implementation of the OHSAS\/ISO certified integrated management systems of AECOM SA.<\/p>\n<p>The HSSS will report to the HSS Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The HSSS will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, review, implement and undertake an audit, inspection &amp; training regime, to assess and ensure the effectiveness of the Main Contractors Health, Safety &amp; Security Plans and their associated processes.<\/li>\n<li>Drive an overall strategy that assists, establishes and ensures the implementation of Health, Safety &amp; Security Practices for the corporate\/project activities, which comply with international standards, national, regional and local laws, company systems and the client\u2019s requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implementing Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems compliant with AECOM SA OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certified systems.<\/li>\n<li>Developing and implementing management strategies, systems, procedures and guidelines for internal and external clients.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that HSS staff provide professional reports to senior management throughout the project lifecycle.<\/li>\n<li>Confirming HSS staff review project agreements\/contracts\/sub contracts and understand the HSS requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Confirming that appropriate internal and external HSS processes and procedures are in place, that they are effective and that AECOM standards are being followed.<\/li>\n<li>Managing the HSS staff including the planning, hiring, developing, mentoring, leading and retention of staff<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing contract level HSS systems implementation throughout the tender, execution and closeout stages of contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Leading the assessment and reporting for near-misses and incidents.<\/li>\n<li>Oversight of HSS reporting by sub-contractors \/ sub-consultants to achieve timely reporting at the appropriate level of detail.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 7 years of experience in HSS discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership position overseeing HSS and other personnel on major projects or programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years of experience on major infrastructure programme during construction phase.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 3 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defining and coordinating the health, safety and security requirements across multiple contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Providing safety advice, direction and information to Clients, Designers &amp; Project Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification (Personal Attributes):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Team leader \/ decision maker \u2013 ability to identify skill gaps in team members and implement appropriate development.<\/li>\n<li>Focused on programme delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Empathy towards staff and colleagues \u2013 collaborative management style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in HSS within AECOM EMEA+I is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum BTech in a related field, e.g. engineering, public health, health science, occupational safety, occupational health science).<\/li>\n<li>IRCA: Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001.<\/li>\n<li>Member of professional organisation in HSS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
