In 1956, Sheraton purchased the Eppley Hotel Company, which was then the largest privately held hotel business in the United States, for $30 million.Three years later, in 1959 it purchased the four hotels owned by the Matson Lines in Honolulu, Hawaii, its first hotels outside North America. In 1955, Sheraton began to build large highway hotels (100-300 rooms); in 1962 a franchise division was created to promote Sheraton Motor Inns. These provided free parking and competed with roadside motels.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: General Cashier<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sheraton Hotels Group is seeking a General Cashier to join our multinational team. The General Cashier performs day to day accounting activities, reporting and issue resolution between operations and the shared service operations. The position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial reports and transactions as appropriate. This position ensures that operations are in compliance with all internal control procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, cashier activities, taking inventories, receiving &amp; accounting as defined in the procedures. Interested applicants should forward their new CV and cover letter through Sheraton\u2019s career email or apply button displayed above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions &amp; Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Corporate accommodations are provided to enable individuals perform the essential functions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform ad hoc accounting activities in support of operations and Financial Director.<\/li>\n<li>Banking and auditing the cash boxes (front desk, bar, restaurants, etc.), daily deposit to bank, and petty cash.<\/li>\n<li>Organize and distribute paychecks as directed.<\/li>\n<li>Attend pre-con meetings and client billing review.<\/li>\n<li>Performs storeroom\/receiving activities as appropriate according to accepted procedures, verifies receipt of materials and supplies as specified on purchase order documents; places materials received into appropriate storage.<\/li>\n<li>Transmits copies of checks and daily check log to shared services for proper posting.<\/li>\n<li>Brings cash and checks to local bank for daily deposit.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the preparation and distribution of reports generated by the department.<\/li>\n<li>Establishes and maintains files and distribute information, mail to shared services.<\/li>\n<li>Obtains data and information necessary to assist in responding to inquiries.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the completion of special projects as assigned by the Finance Director.<\/li>\n<li>Answers incoming phone calls, directs calls to appropriate department as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the completion of computerized receiving reports and transmission of receiving documentation to appropriate parties.<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the performance of monthly quarterly and annual inventories as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Regular attendance in conformance with standards.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel.<\/li>\n<li>Required to attend all training sessions and meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Skills &amp; Abilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team oriented environment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain confidentially is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate clearly, timely, and accurately.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate basic office equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Three + years\u2019 experience in Accounting and or income\/night audit management.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications.<\/li>\n<li>Effective management, leadership, organizational and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should send their application and CV to <strong>careers@sheratonhotelsgroup.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 1949 Sheraton expanded internationally with the purchase of two Canadian hotel chains.
