{"id":23371,"date":"2017-04-19T10:43:08","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T10:43:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=23371"},"modified":"2017-04-19T10:43:08","modified_gmt":"2017-04-19T10:43:08","slug":"careers-uhas-april-jobs-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/careers-uhas-april-jobs-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"Careers At UHAS (April Jobs 2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Founded in December 2011, University of Health and Allied Sciences is among the youngest public universities in Ghana.\u00a0 University of Health and Allied\u00a0 has a student population of almost\u00a0 2,100 and employees numbering approximately 390 made up of academic and senior administrative employees, as well as other support staff.<\/p>\n<p>The vision of University of Health and Allied Sciences is to provide quality educational opportunities to students and healthcare professionals, advance knowledge through scholarship and research and provide patient care and services that improve health and quality of life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Academic Deans (Senior Level Administrative Positions)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Health and Allied Sciences invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following positions to take effect from 1st August, 2017:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Vice Chancellor<\/p>\n<p><strong>Positions: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dean, School of Nursing and Midwifery<\/li>\n<li>Dean, School of Public Health<\/li>\n<li>Dean, School of Pharmacy<\/li>\n<li>Dean, School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Dean is responsible for providing leadership to the School and for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed by the University Act and Statutes, and as may be determined by the Council or the Academic Board.<\/li>\n<li>The Dean is to ensure that the approved programmes and functions of the School are duly carried out by members of the School\/Institute.<\/li>\n<li>The Dean is also responsible for the general administration of the School in respect of human, financial and material resources within the general framework of University policy.<\/li>\n<li>The Dean shall perform any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Tenure:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Dean shall hold office for three years on terms and conditions recommended by the Appointments Board and is eligible for re-appointment for a further term of up to three years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The applicant must be:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Of a professorial status in a relevant or related subject area from an academic\/research institution or qualified to be appointed as such.
