{"id":23802,"date":"2017-05-15T14:18:34","date_gmt":"2017-05-15T14:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=23802"},"modified":"2017-05-15T14:23:57","modified_gmt":"2017-05-15T14:23:57","slug":"gimpa-currently-recruiting-2017-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/gimpa-currently-recruiting-2017-jobs.html","title":{"rendered":"GIMPA Currently Recruiting (2017 Jobs)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)\/ a world-class center of excellence for training in leadership, management and administration, located at Greenhill, Achimota, invites applications from qualified and dynamic persons to fill the following vacancy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Director of Information Management Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Director of Information Management Services will establish the technical vision for IT infrastructure and services and provide overall leadership to the staff in the Information Systems department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe successful candidate shall report to the Registrar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Direct the activities and projects being carried out by the IT department to enhance implementation of the Institute\u2019s strategic plan<\/li>\n<li>Plan and control IT acquisitions and facilities and ensure that they are consistent with the Institute\u2019s strategic plan<\/li>\n<li>Direct the design, development, and maintenance of IT-related systems and programmes to meet the Institute\u2019s information needs<\/li>\n<li>Establish information systems policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources<\/li>\n<li>Ensure protection of the Institute\u2019s information through continuous information security systems design, implementation, and management<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that expenses are within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operation of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Develop and motivate staff to effectively carry out departmental functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills<\/li>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IT development and incorporate new developments into the future systems of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Carry out feasibility studies and cost\/benefit analysis of the Institute\u2019s new IT projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms of Appointment:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe successful candidate shall hold office for a term of four (4) academic years in the first instance and may be reappointed for further terms of four (4) academic years, subject to good performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in computer science or information systems from a reputable University<\/li>\n<li>Ten years relevant experience, five (5) of which must be in a top management position<\/li>\n<li>Proven expertise in Database Management; Enterprise Resource Planning Systems; Computer and Information Security, Network and Systems Design, Implementation and Management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have excellent leadership and people management skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent negotiation skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Must have collaboration skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to prioritize tasks<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to tolerate stress<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications with CV\/resume, cover letter, vision statement, copies of transcripts and certificates should be emailed to <strong>schoolsecretary@gimpa.edu.gh<\/strong> or sent to the address below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The School Secretary<br \/>\nGhana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)<br \/>\nP. o.
