{"id":2407,"date":"2011-02-27T13:29:52","date_gmt":"2011-02-27T13:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=2407"},"modified":"2011-02-27T13:29:52","modified_gmt":"2011-02-27T13:29:52","slug":"ghana-meteorological-agency-recruits-director-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/ghana-meteorological-agency-recruits-director-general.html","title":{"rendered":"Ghana Meteorological Agency Recruits Director General"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Ghana meteorological Agency<\/strong> invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians who are goal oriented, results driven with exceptional leadership qualities and enthusiasm for appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Object of the Position:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo provide overall leadership, vision, strategic direction and supervision of the operations of the Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Provide strategic direction for the work of the Agency subject to general directives of the board<br \/>\nCarry out day-to-day administration and management of the Agency<br \/>\nEnsure the implementation of the decisions of the board<br \/>\nPropose policies relating to the strategic direction of the Agency for the Board&#8217;s consideration<br \/>\nEnforce the rules, regulations and procedures prescribe by the World Meteorological Agency<br \/>\nAdvice the Board on the management of the National Meteorological Fund<br \/>\nServe as the Permanent Representative of Ghana at the World Meteorological Organization<br \/>\nFaster and promote cooperation and relationship between the Agency and the relevant national and international organizations<br \/>\nSubmit annual and other periodic reports on the activities and operations of the agency to the Board<br \/>\nManage the resources (financial, personnel, logistics and equipment) of the Agency for optimum performance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A minimum of a Master&#8217;s Degree in Meteorology or Climate Science from a recognized University<br \/>\nA minimum of twelve (12) years post qualification relevant work experience with extensive research work in climatology, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable institution<br \/>\nAn MBA or MPA would be an added advantage<br \/>\nStrong managerial and organizational skills<br \/>\nAbility to think broadly and demonstration of creativity<br \/>\nGood leadership and decision making skills<br \/>\nStrong administrative and supervisory skills<br \/>\nGood team player<br \/>\nExcellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills<br \/>\nProficiency in computer application<br \/>\nConversant with financial Administration Act, the Public Procurement Act and the Internal Audit Agency<br \/>\nConversant with current policies and regulations of the World Meteorological Organisation<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications should be forwarded together with supporting documents, a statement of applicant&#8217;s vision for the position, curriculum vitae, office and residential telephone numbers, e-mail and addresses of three (3) referees to:<\/p>\n<p>THE SECRETARY<br \/>\nPUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION<br \/>\nP.
