ICI works with the cocoa industry, civil society and national governments in cocoa-producing countries to ensure a better future for children and contributes to the elimination of child labour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0CLMRS Field Associate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>International Cocoa Initiative (ICI),\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Terms of Reference,<\/strong><strong> CLMRS Field Associate, Ghana<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The International Cocoa Initiative (ICI) (www.cocoainitiative.org) seeks a CLMRS Field Associate to support its operations in the Konongo District in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>ICI has developed a Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS) that allows industry partners to manage responsibly the risk of child labour in their cocoa supply chain. In line with the Ghana Child Labor Monitoring System (GCLMS), the system is based on the presence of Community Facilitators (CF) within cocoa-growing communities who raise awareness on the issue of child labour; identify cases and implement remediation activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Based at District-level, under the authority of the National Coordinator and direct supervision of the Supply Chain Projects Coordinator, the incumbent will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure the liaison between ICI in Accra, regional stakeholders, and local authorities;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure consistent implementation of the guidelines and policies established by ICI Foundation;<\/li>\n<li>Collect, analyze and transmit all relevant information from the field to ensure regular reporting to the National Coordinator (NC) and Supply Chain Projects Coordinator\u00a0 on project progress and prepare technical reports;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper set-up and roll-out of the CLMRS in the region, specifically:<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the recruitment of Monitoring and Remediation Agents (MRA) together with the societies and the industry partners where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the selection of the Community Facilitators (CF) where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the training of MRAs and CFS and organize field-level training logistics where necessary<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing technical support to MRAs and the CFS, ensuring that they fulfill their terms of reference<\/li>\n<li>Pro-actively monitor KPIs for the area under his\/her responsibility and pro-actively work towards their improvement<\/li>\n<li>Support community-level awareness-raising sessions on child labour<\/li>\n<li>Advise on remediation strategies and follow-up on the implementation of remediation activities<\/li>\n<li>Assist partners (suppliers, societies, LBCs, etc.) in setting up and running the CLMRS<\/li>\n<li>Organize the logistics around the field visits of ICI staff from Accra and Geneva or industry partners;<\/li>\n<li>Work on any other related tasks as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of actors;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and planning skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work autonomously in remote environments and to keep a high level of motivation;<\/li>\n<li>Be pro-active;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the cocoa sector and experience in activities related to the fight against child labor;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent command of the Microsoft Office software products, in particular, Word and Excel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicant must have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Higher Education degree (minimum two years) in a relevant field (agronomy, development studies, supply-chain management, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on rural development or cocoa supply-chain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:\u00a0<\/strong>The position is based in in the ICI\u2019s project districts in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LANGUAGES:\u00a0 <\/strong>Fluency in written and spoken English, and a Ghanaian language preferably Twi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your CV AND A COVER LETTER.
