At BAT we&#8217;re always ready to talk to talented people like you &#8211; people who are looking to make the difference in our organisation.<\/p>\n<p>British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for an External Affairs Manager to join our team in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: External Affairs Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Job Holder Will Have As Main Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To contribute to sustainability at an end market level by shaping the business environment through the planning and execution of campaigns designed to deliver the preferred regulatory future as defined through the strategy &amp; budget cycle<\/li>\n<li>To ensure that BAT becomes the partner of choice for governments and takes a leading role as appropriate within the industry as well as amongst key allies on tobacco control issues including excise, tobacco regulation and illicit trade as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to the achievement of business objectives by ensuring regulatory impact mitigation on a cross-functional basis and identifying opportunities for competitive advantage in the development of the regulatory environment<\/li>\n<li>To drive and manage the continuous development of BAT\u2019s regulatory engagement with a view to promoting tobacco regulation which balances the interests of consumers with the interests of society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The role will have regional exposure, covering the following countries: Ghana, Liberia, Gambia and Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree<\/li>\n<li>Ideally a minimum of 5 years experience in either marketing management (including brand campaign development and execution), CORA\/Legal (with a government\/regulatory aspect) or political affairs<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills \u2013 a credible advocate of BAT interests<\/li>\n<li>Aptitude for engaging credibly across functions internally and building networks\/relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills<\/li>\n<li>In depth and up to date knowledge of local political and policy-making processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of the tobacco industry and its political, social and economic environment<\/li>\n<li>Active interest in tobacco and tobacco control issues<\/li>\n<li>Ability to apply project management principles to campaign execution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you seeking a new challenge and the chance to reach your full potential?
