Youth Empowerment for Life (YEfL) is a Tamale-based Non-Governmental Organization aimed at empowering youth politically, socially and economically. Our key strategic areas include entrepreneurship, sport for development, youth organization, communication & media, and governance. Our development partners include GDCA, Oxfam \u2013 IBIS, CRS and STAR GHANA, with Ghana Friends (in Denmark) and Danida as our major funders.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

YEfL is seeking the services of a qualified person for the position of Technical Advisor for Youth, Advocacy and Gender. The staff member will be responsible for providing technical advisory support within our strategic areas and perform managerial roles in collaboration with the management team of YEfL.
\nThe Technical Advisor is responsible for developing the technical expertise of the organization. This involves careful context monitoring of developments within the strategic areas for adjustments of strategies, advocacy plans, cooperation and networking opportunities, etc.<\/p>\n

Technical advisory support will be given to all YEFL\u2019s projects and programmes. The major tasks include:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Strategy development relevant to the organization\u2019s intervention areas
\n\u2022 Close cooperation with programme teams, advising and supporting implementation, including capacity building of and support to district teams
\n\u2022 Collect relevant issues and data from field level to serve as evidence for advocacy at regional\/national\/international level
\n\u2022 Cooperate closely with advocacy and communication teams on development and implementation of advocacy strategies and production of communication materials
\n\u2022 Contribute to fund raising including proposal writing to secure funding for YEfL
\n\u2022 Conduct routine programme monitoring & evaluation and participate in joint monitoring & evaluation with other partners
\n\u2022 Prepare technical reports relating to programmes
\n\u2022 Hold engagement meetings with National Youth Authority and other stakeholders
\n\u2022 Contribute to community-based activities
\n\u2022 Conduct entrepreneurship trainings and monitor progress<\/p>\n

Qualifications Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Master\u2019s degree in Development Studies or Social Sciences, plus at least 2-years\u2019 experience in community development work; or a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field plus 4 years\u2019 relevant experience in community development work<\/p>\n

Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Should have proven experience in policy analysis, advocacy, organizational capacity building, entrepreneurship, project design and proposal development, strategic communication, monitoring & evaluation, documentation & reporting.
\n\u2022 Ability to speak fluently in English and one or more languages spoken in Northern Region<\/p>\n
