A reputable Oil Refinery in Ghana is inviting applications from competent and qualified applicants for the position of GENERAL MANAGER: Human Resource & Administration. The successful General Manager will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Human Resource Management strategies, systems, policies and procedures to create a harmonious organisational climate to facilitate the achievement of the Refinery’s business objectives.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities\/Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Develop, implement and maintain HR strategies, policies and procedures to promote consistency with regard to terms and conditions of service, resourcing, training & development in line with the organisation’s business strategy.
\n\u2022 Monitor and identify human resource requirements and skills mix and make appropriate recommendation to management on recruitment, selection and placement of the right calibre of employees.
\n\u2022 Provide direction for the review of organisational structures, job analysis, job descriptions\/specifications and job evaluation.
\n\u2022 Develop Performance Management System in line with the organisation’s overall business strategy and monitor its implementation.
\n\u2022 Act as the technical advisor to Management in the negotiation and review of Collective Bargaining Agreements; as well as design and advise management\/board on compensation\/reward schemes, including Conditions of Service for Management Staff.
\n\u2022 Advise on labour laws, legislation and industrial relations practices and monitor to ensure compliance.
\n\u2022 Develop polices to manage the employee relations processes to ensure grievance and disciplinary issues are resolved as quickly as practicable to promote fair and consistent treatment of staff.
\n\u2022 Develop and monitor the implementation of HR Planning, Succession Planning and effective Talent Management Systems.
\n\u2022 Develop and monitor the implementation of effective HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure easy accessibility and retrieval of HR data\/information.
\n\u2022 Proactively engage with Functional\/Department Heads to identify specific training needs and advise on human capital development\/management.
\n\u2022 Provide leadership and monitor to ensure the implementation of effective safety, health and environmental practices in order to promote a strong safety culture.
\n\u2022 Oversight responsibility for the management of Transport, Estate and Archives functions.<\/p>\n

Qualifications Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 MBA in Human Resource Management or related field.
\n\u2022 Membership of a recognised professional body.
\n\u2022 10 years working experience in managerial role in HRM.
\n\u2022 In-depth knowledge of Labour Laws and Regulations.
\n\u2022 Considerable knowledge and experience in developing Human Resources Management strategy to align with overall business strategy.
\n\u2022 Excellent knowledge\/experience in HR Management Systems (e.g. HR Planning \/ Development, HR Policies, Compensation\/Performance Management, Industrial Relations, etc.).
\n\u2022 Strong negotiation, persuasion and conflict management skills.
\n\u2022 Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
\n\u2022 Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
\n\u2022 Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all categories of employees.
\n\u2022 Excellent people management skills with ability to hold individual\/team members accountable and explore team expertise to full business potential.
\n\u2022 Good knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other HR software and tools.<\/p>\n
