Our<br \/>\nglobal network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and<br \/>\nprivate industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Project Director<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The\u00a0Project Director\u00a0(PD) leads the AECOM project team and is accountable for the delivery of the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The PD hires, develops and manages a team of project personnel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The PD has overall responsibility and accountability for managing the AECOM consultancy agreement with the Client, including finances and risk management.<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The PD\u00a0has overall responsibility and accountability for delivering the project services to the Client in support of the delivery of the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The PD is named in FIDIC Red Book and Yellow Book contracts as The Engineer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The PD reports to the Market Sector Director, Ports &amp; Marine, Africa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0PD is responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Management, reporting, and control of the overall project.<\/li>\n<li>Provision\u00a0of in-country project support facilities and logistics in Ghana to support the project team, including\u00a0transportation, office accommodations, equipment, IT\/communications, visas and support services sub-contracts.<\/li>\n<li>The PD will mobilize to Ghana with the first wave of staff and oversee the growth of the project team\u00a0in accordance with evolving project needs and in accordance with an updated staffing\/manpower plan.<\/li>\n<li>Health, safety, and security of all AECOM project employees.<\/li>\n<li>Project compliance with AECOM&#8217;s governance requirements (DOAs) including project-specific blanket DOAs.<\/li>\n<li>Project compliance with AECOM&#8217;s Integrated Management System (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment).<\/li>\n<li>Project compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of South Africa and Ghana.<\/li>\n<li>Internal (within AECOM) project reporting, including\u00a0status updates, financial forecasting, risk reporting and schedule reporting.<\/li>\n<li>High-level liaison with the Employer&#8217;s representatives, and for Client-AECOM contractual matters including invoicing, payments, delays, liability, and delivery of the scope of services to the Client.<\/li>\n<li>High-level liaison with AECOM&#8217;s primary sub-contractors\/sub-consultants, and for all AECOM-Sub-contractor\/consultant contractual matters.<\/li>\n<li>Identifying, reviewing and approving the hiring of key project personnel, and for managing the performance of his direct reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Minimum 10 years of experience in port &amp; marine project development including major projects\/programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in a top leadership position overseeing staff on major projects or programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience on marine works construction sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Time schedule development and management for large infrastructure programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Cost budget development and management for large infrastructure programmes.<\/li>\n<li>implementation of ISO 9001 systems.<\/li>\n<li>implementation of health\/safety\/security protocols on construction sites.<\/li>\n<li>communication with staff, contractors, clients, stakeholders and AECOM Sr Management.<\/li>\n<li>review of contractual deliverables [including technical reports] for accuracy and clarity.<\/li>\n<li>review of internal AECOM financial and progress reports for accuracy and clarity.<\/li>\n<li>risk analysis of the AECOM enterprise.<\/li>\n<li>risk analysis of the client\u2019s programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Team leader \/ decision maker \u2013 ability to identify skill gaps in team members and implement appropriate development.<\/li>\n<li>Focused on client delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Empathy towards staff and colleagues \u2013 collaborative management style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in AECOM\u2019s APIC system and MAP training are advantages.<\/li>\n<li>Experience on project sites in West Africa is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Minimum BTech in a related field, i.e. Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, Accounting.<\/li>\n<li>Member of professional organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Professional engineering licensure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\">AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
