Our<br \/>\nglobal network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and<br \/>\nprivate industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Safety and Environmental Inspector<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding jobdescriptionInJobDetails\"><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">The SHE Inspector reports to the AECOM Safety Manager.<br \/>\nThe Safety Inspector will support all the dredging, reclamation, breakwater quay wall and all other construction activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Safety Inspector is responsible for\u00a0actively addressing Safety and Environmental issues on site by providing guidance or coaching to all employees if and when necessary.<br \/>\nThe Safety Inspector will be coordinating all Safety and Environmental aspects of the works. His duties will include, but will not be limited to, taking particular responsibility for:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Daily site inspections and on the job coaching and training.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and report all sub-standard acts, conditions and situations.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up and close out on agreed actions derived from observations reported.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Monthly Audits and Inspections as per AECOM SHE Plan.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on audit deviations and audit close out.<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordination of weekly reports from all contractors on site.<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordination of all monthly reports from all Contractors on site.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor Plant and Equipment on site, ensuring compliance to pre-use inspection checklists and Competencies of Drivers and Equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor incident reporting and investigations.<\/li>\n<li>Carry out incident investigations from the MPC side.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up on remedial action plans developed during incident investigations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Training Material.<\/li>\n<li>Present site inductions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a stock of Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, on Site for AECOM Project staff and Visitors.<\/li>\n<li>Take minutes on Health and Safety Management meetings on site.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as directed by the AECOM Safety Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Review of all risk assessments, PTB\u2019s, Method Statements and Safe Work Procedures on site as part of the auditing process; inspection and monitoring of all sub-contractor Plant and Equipment;<\/li>\n<li>assistance with and advice upon the development and implementation of the Safety Management Plan<\/li>\n<li>implementing effective record systems with special reference to the contractor statistics on man-hours and incidents\u00a0advice, assistance and assessment in respect of all safety related issues;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring all aspects of the Contractor\u2019s operations with especial reference to adherence to good<\/li>\n<li>practices for health and safety and protection of the environment;<\/li>\n<li>keeping a daily safety diary to record important events;<\/li>\n<li>attending Site meetings when requested to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Attending daily PTB\u2019s and toolbox talks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\">Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Experience working for a consultant is required (3 years minimum)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Marine Construction and \/or site investigation is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience working for a contractor is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific Skills Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Preparation of Safety reports<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate<\/li>\n<li>Training and Coaching skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal Attributes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Focused on project delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Safety inspector forms part of a larger Construction management team and sound interpersonal skills and team ethic are essential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\">Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Accredited Safety Qualification and dredging and Marine Construction experience.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\"><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope section2LeftfieldsInJobDetails jobDetailTextArea\">AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
