Detailed assessments of the capacity and business models of a number of off-grid energy companies will be carried out to determine which companies will be supported based on their needs and scale up potential, and from this long-list, up to 5 companies will be supported with hands-on Business Focused Technical Assistance.<\/p>\n<p>This support will include supporting them to develop their detailed business models, as well as their financial planning, cost analysis, and developing long-term business strategies to ensure that they can convince financial institutions and investors of their bankability and low risk. In addition, TA will also be provided to help the companies more effectively distribute and retail their products, including developing new partnerships with other distribution and retail companies, and further developing their distribution and marketing strategies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Off-Grid Business Technical Advisor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carry out detailed assessments of the current business models of a range of off-grid energy companies in Ghana, including their current technologies, distribution, retail and investment strategies, and future scale-up plans, including access to working capital and consumer finance.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of Business-focused Technical Assistance (TA) to up to 5 companies to help them develop and implement their business models, including their financial planning, accessing finance from a range of financial institutions (FIs), and supporting the development of their distribution and retail strategies.<\/li>\n<li>Liaising with all required PATRP staff and USAID personnel, as well as external stakeholders as required.<\/li>\n<li>Updated Business Models of at least 5 companies.<\/li>\n<li>Regular reports of the progress of the companies, in particular their systems sales over time and their increased access to finance.<\/li>\n<li>Presentation of report findings to a range of stakeholders, as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or Finance or a related field, and at least five years\u2019 experience in the energy sector. Postgraduate degree preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of providing technical assistance (TA) to off-grid energy companies, commercial investment banks, private equity and\/or financial or legal services companies or firms in the international energy or finance sector.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of analyzing and structuring financial transactions, ideally of energy companies, including financial models and investment deals, including the provision of targeted Technical Assistance (TA).<\/li>\n<li>Proven written and oral communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills dealing with and private sector companies, government agencies and Financial Institutions (FIs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on our company, please visit our website at\u00a0www.tetratech.com.
