About the organization: Aspire Food Group is an international social enterprise dedicated to the sustainable practice of farming edible insects. With offices in the US and Ghana, Aspire seeks to farm locally desired insects as a way to address food insecurity. In Ghana, Aspire farms the palm weevil larva, a local delicacy that has been traditionally harvested. In addition, Aspire Ghana has also taught several hundred farmers in Southern and Central Ghana to be able to farm their own larva as a
\na source of household animal protein and as an opportunity for increased income.<\/p>\n
Aspire Ghana seeks to rapidly scale its production, co-develop packaged products, take advantage of export opportunities to other West African countries, support its network of farmers to scale their production and to

The candidate will manage all of their bookkeeping, do financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and operational modeling. The candidate must have three or more years of experience as an in-house accountant or accountant at a firm. He\/She must be familiar with auditing, processing payroll and dealing with other tax arms of the Ghanaian government. \nThe chosen candidate will report directly to the President of the organization but will work closely with the research, operations and field teams for the purposes of keeping accounts and for the purposes of analysis. While accounting is a critical role of this job, the chosen candidate must have an operational mindset and must be able to perform analysis and create models to inform strategic decisions.<\/p>\n
\nMaintain all receipt, invoice and banking records
\nExecute banking transactions and liaise with the organization\u2019s banks at the direction of the President of the organization
\nMaintain and manage organization\u2019s petty cash and mobile money account
\nProcess monthly payroll
\nModel different production and processing methodologies
\nCreate budgets for the organization\u2019s growth and monitor budgeting progress
\nProvide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements\u00a0Liaise with auditing firm for yearly audit process
\nAssist in other law-mandated record-keeping and filings of the organization
\nCan include more tasks\/duties as the candidate progresses<\/p>\n
\n3+ years of accounting experience with a company or an accounting firm
\nPrevious experience with a food, agriculture or food processing company is a strong asset
\nMust be living in Kumasi, Ghana<\/p>\n
\nProbationary period of 3 months, 10% increase after 3 months + health insurance after 3 months
\nMobile allowance
\nTransportation allowance<\/p>\n
