The incumbent will assist to establish and maintain the management of the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and ensure that the system is aligned to OHSAS I8001.He or she will also use his experience to assist the Health,\u00a0 Safety and Environment Manager in running the day-to-day activities of the Department and in achieving its strategic objective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>POSITION: Metallurgical Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Job:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Abosso Goldfields Limited, Damang Mine is seeking to appoint a dedicated, committed and self-motivated individual for the position of Metallurgical Manager. The incumbent will provide overall supervision and ensure effective gold recovery on the mine.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will manage the accounting features of the gold processing plant and ensure raw materials for processing are accurate for safely sustainable plant throughput and gold recovery at a minimum cost. The incumbent will be required to develop proper action plans for the plant and implement it effectively to ensure continuous achievement which includes; plans regarding metallurgical Management and its material acquisition. He\/she will ensure that management system, policies and procedures are followed and resources are utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve production targets whiles Health &amp; Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and maintain Metallurgical Account, Reconcile procedures and coordinate the shipment of bullion<\/li>\n<li>Develop daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for production, gold recovery and operating cost<\/li>\n<li>Set and monitor operating budget and control systems for the consumables<\/li>\n<li>Mentor and provide technical inputs into the developmental training of junior metallurgists.<\/li>\n<li>Active involvement in plant decision making process by way of reviewing and monitoring process parameters<\/li>\n<li>Develop innovatively and cost effective operating methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Plan and manage plant shutdowns to maximize time available for plant maintenance and processing jobs whilst ensuring minimal production losses<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership, guidance, support, and back-up to operational and maintenance personnel in order to develop a team, increase efficiency and achieve targets whilst adhering to mine standards and legislation<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical input to all project evaluations e.g. capital expenditure proposals and\/or plant\/process modifications<\/li>\n<li>Manage reline schedules of liner stock as well as tailings dam operation and management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical\/Chemical Engineering or Higher National Diploma (Extraction Metallurgy) or its equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>A Government Certificate of Competency (Process Manager\u2019s Certificate of Competency)<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 years working experience in metallurgical and mineral processing operation<\/li>\n<li>Excellent technical and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding of process control philosophy and systems<\/li>\n<li>Be an innovative thinker, driven by results-achievement<\/li>\n<li>Be resilient and resourceful and has a high level of integrity<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the job and the environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It will be highly advantageous if the applicant has:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Operation and management of a gyratory crusher and a secondary crushing plant<\/li>\n<li>Operation and management of SAG Mill\/Ball mill\/Pebble crushing Comminution circuit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abosso Gold Fields Limited is seeking to appoint a dedicated, committed and self-motivated individual for the position of Unit Manager-Safety &amp; Occupational Hygiene.
