Accra Brewery Limited is a brewery based in Accra, Ghana. They are listed on the stock index of the Ghana Stock Exchange, the GSE All-Share Index. Accra Brewery Limited (ABL), originally known as Overseas brewery limited was resisted in 1931 for the purposes of stabling a brewing industry in the then Gold Coast. Following a new investment law passed in 1975, there was a revision of ownership and the name changed to the current one. Again in 1997, South African Breweries acquired controlling shares in the company. ABL is one of the oldest non-traditional manufacturing businesses in Ghana. ABL brands include Club Beer, Castle Milk Stout, Stone Lager, Club Shandy, Club Muscatella, Club Orange, Club Cola, Castle Milk Malt, Soda, Quinine Tonic which are produced and marketed from their site in Accra. \nSupport the West Africa Business Unit and Africa Zone Legal & Corporate Affairs team in the development and delivery of the strategy for building the profile and reputation of the ABlnbev Africa\/global corporate brand.
\nEnsure that all legal risks to the Ghana business are neutralized.<\/p>\n
\nDesign and implement a media relations programme that raises the profile and builds\/protects the reputation of the company among key media audiences.
\nEnsure that the company has publications (both electronic and traditional) necessary to build stakeholder awareness, understanding and reputation and that it contributes to ABlnbev publications and reports.
\nEnsure that key trade and industry organizations\/bodies (including task forces and special groups) where the company should be represented are
\nidentified, and that the most appropriate company representatives participate.
\nWhere deemed absolutely necessary, work at establishing such organizations (e.g. alcohol manufacturer associations) with key stakeholders.
\nEnsure that the views, positions and agenda of the company are effectively represented and supported by other members of key trade and industry
\nbodies
\nEnsure compliance with the ABlnbev compliance policy.
\nEnsure that the company has robust evaluation methodologies in place to measure the impact of CA activities, initiatives and programmes and that these insights are used to determine how programmes and plans can be improved
\nEnsure the company has systems and processes in place to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders in the event of a crisis and that these
\nprocesses include protocols for when and how BU needs to be involved.
\nManage legal resources to ensure<\/p>\n
\nA University Degree; a postgraduate degree will be an added advantage
\nA Qualifying Certificate to practice Law in Ghana and at least 10 years post qualification experience
\nExperience of highly regulated industry with a proven track record in stakeholder relations, particularly of establishing strong governmental relationships
\nStrong communication skills and courage to defend views when challenged and the ability to form meaningful relationships with stakeholders as well as an ability to influence
\nA comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory processes, the priorities and agenda of key policy-makers; key industry associations; and Local\/regional NGOs, their agenda and how they work and the interrelationship between them
\nAnalytical skills to interpret key trends and emerging issues in terms of their impact on the company
\nOrganizational skills to coordinate the effective delivery of multiple stakeholder communications and cross-functional projects
\nCredibility to counsel and advise senior management on key developments within the external environment, their possible implications for the company and to make considered recommendations to address them<\/p>\n
