Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Project Manager- Community Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

The International Cocoa Initiative Project Manager-Community Development supports the Program Coordinator in the development and implementation of the ICI community development programmme
\nin pursuit of the ICI objectives for the National Coordination Office in Ghana.
\nUnder the supervision of the ICI Deputy National Coordinator \/\u00a0Programmme Coordinator and technically reporting to the Child Centered Community Development Programme Manager in ICI
\nGeneva, the Community Development Manager will be responsible for project management and implementation to deliver on the agreed objectives.<\/p>\n

Main tasks and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Projects Management<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ensure sound technical and financial management of ICI Core programme
\nProvide support to the programme team and National Coordinator in the development of new partnerships and collaboration mechanisms at national and local levels
\nSupervise the Community Development Associates (CDAs) ensuring that project processes and outcomes are properly documented to learn lessons and identify good practices. Ensure that these outcomes feed ICI\u2019s evidence-based advocacy
\nSupervise the CDAs in their preparation of project status reports, required for programme analysis and review, and report accordingly to the Deputy
\nNational Coordinator\/Program Coordinator
\nReview work plans and M&E plans of Community Development programmme;
\nReview reports of CDAs \u2013 Technical report every 6 months, financial reports every month and Financial report to be revised jointly with the financial officer and advise on programmme implementation.
\nSupport CDAs to handle conflict and difficulties related to project implementation at the district and community levels;
\nRepresent ICI at programmme and project functions and meetings as agreed with the Deputy National Coordinator\/Program Coordinator;
\nEnsure a field based collaboration with relevant local counterparts (including local authorities, civil society representatives, and others NGOs);
\nSupport the Financial Associate in ensuring that project funds are adequately spent and liquidated;
\nEnsure project processes and outcomes are properly documented to identify potential good practices;
\nSupport the Deputy National\/Program Coordinator in providing to ICI Secretariat projects status report required for programme analysis and review;
\nProgramme Monitoring and reporting<\/p>\n

Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports on programme and project activities (for instance programme reports related to Board meetings, or ad hoc reports)
\nSupport the PCCF questionnaires review and its administration
\nRevise Monitoring tool content and support the data consolidation and support M&E specialist in the integration of the data into the ICI database platform.
\nSupport ICI Geneva in the project data analysis (MT, PCCF)
\nProvide guidance to DI staff to develop and submit relevant and timely data based on the programme progress;
\nVisit project communities to determine the progress of work, especially towards meeting the program objectives;
\nInteract regularly with community members and DI team to determine the needs of communities;
\nMonitor the progress of \u201cinfrastructure projects\u201d and any community development activities and document cost-effective and efficient implementation processes;<\/p>\n

Training and support<\/strong><\/p>\n

Support the child labour and child protection related training for supply chain\/industry staff and national\/district level child labour and child protection actors
\nBuild the capacity of CDAs
\nSupport preparation and application of appropriate training manuals and brochures;
\nSupport the implementation of specific projects implemented by ICI in partnership with other organizations or companies.<\/p>\n

Report writing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prepare regular progress reports on programme implementation;
\nPrepare occasional reports as required, including reports on infrastructure projects\u2019 progress, cases of suspected forced labor, child exploitation or
\ntrafficking, summary reports to relevant national authorities;<\/p>\n

Mission support<\/strong><\/p>\n

Support the organization of ICI missions and visits to project areas;
\nSupport preparation of mission reports;
\nPerform any other duties as required by Deputy National\/Program Coordinator and agreed by the Programme Manager in Geneva
\nStaff Management
\nSupervise all DI staff which includes the CDAs to meet the needs of ICI towards the attainment of ICI strategic objectives
\nSupervise DI staff to prepare their individual Annual Work Objectives within the framework of the ICI annual strategy and annual action plan. Conduct biannual staff appraisal.<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education:
\nUniversity degree in Development Planning\/Studies, Social Sciences or other relevant discipline, with at least 5 years relevant work experience.
\nExperience:
\nProgramme development and monitoring, report preparation and knowledge documentation;
\nExperience of partnership development;
\nExperience in working at community level;
\nInformation management;
\nRepresentational function.<\/p>\n

Competencies:<\/strong>
\nKnowledge of development programming, use of design tools such as logical frameworks.
\nKnowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation processes and tools.
\nKnowledge of information management tools and software.
\nAbility to rapidly analyze and integrate diverse information from varied sources.
\nClear, concise written and verbal communications skills in English (and French).
\nLanguages: Fluency in written and spoken English, Ability to speak Twi and French desirable<\/p>\n
