Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Planner (Land)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Project Planner is responsible for the delivery of project planning and progress measurement, ensuring that AECOM procedures and industry best practices are applied, as appropriate, and recommending changes to the Project Controls Manager where required.<\/p>\n

The Project Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining a project plan and schedule to meet the project objectives.
\nPosition involves assisting with the review of schedules, analysis of baseline schedule and schedule updates, monitoring of schedule delays, tracking of contract changes, analysis of time extension requests, analysis of stage changes, analysis of value engineering impacts and analysis of claims under the direction of Project Managers. May act as the responsible scheduling representative on several projects.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

May include but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n

Safety:
\nA strong personal commitment to safety and familiarisation with AECOM safety processes, protocols and procedures<\/p>\n

Studies (FEL1 (Concept), FEL2 (Pre-Feasibility), FEL3 (Feasibility):
\nDevelop in depth understanding of Project scope by discussions with Project manager, team, leads and study of project scope statement, RFP, Concept designs and any other information.
\nCompile Draft schedule using best practices from the information gathered
\nConduct interactive planning meeting with Functional Managers to finalize project\/study schedule
\nFinalize baseline schedule and compile Progress reports from the baseline information.
\nObtain progress updates from team to update schedule and reports as per the agreed project update cycle.
\nAnalyse update, identify potential issues and\/or corrective actions and liase with Project manager and team.
\nCommunicate reports to team, client and stakeholders as agreed in the study Communications Plan.
\nAs design develop and increase in definition compile schedule and basis of schedule for the next phase. Prior to completion of the study this next phase schedule must be reviewed and agreed by team.<\/p>\n

FEL4 (Execution) Project master schedule development:
\nConfirm and refine FEL4 level 3 scheduling (incl. early works and understand schedule basis)
\nIdentify and schedule critical vendor data requirements
\nRe-validate interfaces between contractors
\nRe-validate WBS and FBS
\nConsolidate package register, package dictionary and CWP (construction work packages)\/EWP (engineering work packages) register
\nPopulate approved measurable commodity quantities and productivity factors
\nUpdate schedule risk analysis and include contingency in baseline
\nUpdate FEL4 schedule basis
\nReview and obtain approval of project baseline schedule<\/p>\n

FEL4 (Execution) commissioning schedule:
\nA detailed Commissioning\/Tie-in schedule will be compiled for commissioning or critical tie-ins. This is not normally done at the beginning of the project but closer to the time.
\nDevelop and finalise level 4 commissioning\/tie-in schedule and confirm level 3 activities on master schedule<\/p>\n

FEL4 (Execution) Project schedule monitoring and updates:
\nObtain updated information, progress and status from team, contractors and other stakeholders
\nAnalyze team discipline progress reports, identify slippages and variances and provide recommendations
\nDiscuss any variations from baseline with Environmental\/ Procurement\/ Engineering and Project Manager and discuss possible mitigations and\/or recovery
\nAnalyze contractor level 4 schedule update, identify delays and potential issues and provide recommendations. Liaise with contractor on clarifications, issues, and methods of mitigation\/recovery
\nDiscuss any variations from baseline with Construction and Project Manager.
\nUpdate level 3 schedule with the interrogated and validated information
\nGenerate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports
\nGenerate all progress curves
\nDevelop and maintain commodity and resource profile
\nExtract and publish 4-week look ahead schedule
\nMonitor slippages and critical and near critical paths and discuss with Project Manager
\nVerify schedule output and distribute to team in the various agreed formats (i.e. Level2, Level3, Milestone register).
\nUse updated information to establish trends, reasonable forecasts and expected outcomes. Pro-actively identify potential issues and conflicts and prepare response plans to mitigate. Highlight these to the Project Manager and team.
\nConduct thorough site visits to ensure alignment between reported schedule and works on site. Liaise with construction manager, site supervisor on concerns and issues.<\/p>\n

General:
\nUnderstand the principles and working of @Risk, Pert master and other leading Monte Carlo Risk analysis programs.
\nAssist Risk manager in conducting Monte Carlo
\nProvide Tender schedules for proposals.
\nAnalyse, Interrogate and evaluate tender schedules submitted for new contracts.
\nAssist contractors in finalizing baselines schedules.
\nRun scenarios to view various impacts or to identify the optimal way to do certain works
\nLiaise with Cost controllers to ensure schedule and cost flows are aligned.
\nPrepare and update presentations
\nReview impact of variations\/compensation events on contractors schedules. Assess time claims from contractors to ensure validity.
\nLiaise with Procurement to ensure Key, Sectional Completion and Access dates are included as part of the tender and eventually the contract.
\nFully understand and apply change control procedures.
\nAssist and Mentor Junior Planners and emphasise Schedule Best Practice.
\nPro-actively Identify risks projecting Milestones. Communicate these to Project Manager and Team.
\nEnsure team is always fully aware of critical actions, activities which needs to be completed and at what time. Issuing an updated schedule is seldom enough and Pro-active communication and reminders might be required.
\nAttend various meetings incl. Progress, Technical, Construction, Workshops and Reviews<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements<\/strong>
\nExperience:
\n5+ years in a planning role
\nExpert working knowledge of Primavera Project Planner (P6 v8.3)
\nExpert working knowledge of Microsoft Project (2013)
\nWorking knowledge of CCS Candy
\nExpert working knowledge of MS Excel
\nStrong computer skills (Word\/PowerPoint)
\nProficient in compiling WBS, WBS Dictionary
\nHands on Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVMS)
\nGood verbal and written communication skills
\nGood analytical skills
\nAbility to set priorities and meet critical time deadlines
\nMust be able to liaise with project teams and contractor\u2019s staff
\nMust be able to handle conflict in a professional manner and assertiveness
\nMust be able to commit at least critical and near critical path of project to memory so that any risks to project completion can immediately be identified and highlighted
\nPossesses a fundamental understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling. Able to interpret construction drawings and review and understand engineering, procurement and construction schedule logic.<\/p>\n

\nAbility to communicate effectively and constructively in a multi discipline contractual environment.

\nAble to produce programmes\/schedules for complex buildings from limited design information
\nExcellent market knowledge of production rates for labour, steel, concrete, MEP and finishes
\nConversant with multiple forms of contract
\nAbility to present to the client and chair meetings
\nAble to work under pressure to meet deadlines within a team environment
\nProactive work style and able to work unaided
\nExcellent written and oral English, able to effectively communicate complex information<\/p>\n

Additional Comments:
\nMust be willing to undertake a computer based skills assessment.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications<\/strong>
\nMust possess Project planning certification i.e. PSP(Planning and Scheduling professional) or PMI SP (PMBok Planning & Scheduling Professional).
\nAt least 7 years of measurable experience in a full time Planning position of which at least 2.5 years is in an EPCM\/EPC role and 5 years site based during construction.<\/p>\n
