The successsful candidate will be stationed at the Agricultural Research Centre, Kpong.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\">jobs in Ghana<\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Job Description:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe candidate will manage the tilapia grow-out cage facility on a profitable basis through activities including the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce fingerlings for use by the project and sale to other farms<\/li>\n<li>Plan and attain annual production targets for grow-out and fingerling production on the farm<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that products from the farm are labelled and certified<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the farm operates on a sustainable and profitable basis<\/li>\n<li>Set up a data storage and retrieval system that ensures that data on the operation of a fish farm is readily available for analysis and preparation of reports<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the effluents, operations and activities on the farm do no endanger the environment<\/li>\n<li>Develop a market for tilapia produced by the cage fish production business<\/li>\n<li>Prepare periodic progress and management reports for the supervising committee<\/li>\n<li>Prepare income and expenditure statements at the end of each batch of tilapia harvested and sold<\/li>\n<li>Prepare income and expenditure, Balance sheet and Cash Flow statements at the end of every calendar year<\/li>\n<li>Undertake any other assignment requested by the Cage Fish Farming Committee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>An MPhil\/MA\/M.Sc in Aquaculture or related subject area from a recognized University. Candidates with Graduate degrees in Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness may also apply<\/li>\n<li>At least 3-5 years practical experience in tilapia farming in Ghana or Africa<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of bio-security measures, fish stock, feed and health management issues<\/li>\n<li>Should have a good knowledge of financial and administrative procedures as well as adequate skills in agricultural data management and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Should have good interpersonal relationships in motivating staff and managing the farm for increased productivity<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit completed application forms (for Administrative or Professional staff), which can be obtained from the University of Ghana website (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ug.edu.gh\/hrodd\">www.ug.edu.gh\/hrodd<\/a>), and Curriculum Vitae to the address below:<\/p>\n<div><strong><br \/>\nThe Ag.
