Job Title:\u00a0Executive Head, HR<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organizational Relationships
\nDirectly Reports to : CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
\nDirectly Supervises: EMPLOYEES OF THE HR DEPARTMENT<\/p>\n

Position Objective and Responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

To develop people strategies aimed at ensuring the delivery of shareholder value including ensuring the availability of the appropriate skillset, up-to-date policies and procedures, robust performance management systems aligned to rewards with the aim of building a highly engaged
\nworkforce, and a conducive working environment within the company.<\/p>\n

Specific Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

This includes but not limited to the following;
\nTrusted Advisor: Acting as the trusted advisor to management on people issues; supports management by providing metric people advice. Also
\nchampions the values of the company and acts as the chief values champion together with the Chief Executive Officer;
\nPeople Strategy: Driving the development and the implementation of a business aligned people strategy through policies and procedures with the aim to increase performance, deliver company objectives and ensure increasing return on equity for shareholders;
\nResourcing: Working with the Chief Executive Officer and Heads of Department to develop a proactive resourcing plan for filling critical roles and in-line with approved manpower plans and budget;
\nLearning, Leadership and Talent Management: Working with the Heads of Department to deploy Leadership Learning and Talent Development solutions within the Company and managing the talent pipeline throughout the company. Cultivate an environment in which opportunities to develop the skills,
\nexperience and behaviours required in the company are identified and acted on in line with the Learning and Development Framework. Provide coaching,
\nrelevant advice, facilitation of workshops, as appropriate;
\nPerformance: Developing and implementing a robust performance management system that measures and monitors organizational and people performance in line with set objectives, including deploying solutions that ensure effective;
\nEmployee Relations: Coaching and supporting Heads of Department with regards to people management issues, including ensuring that legal
\ncompliance is maintained;
\nRewards and Recognition: Ensuring that effective data driven reward and recognition strategies are deployed within the company to ensure the
\nattraction, retention and development of talent whiles also imbibing a culture of pay-for-performance within the company;<\/p>\n

Administration and Operations: Developing and consistently updating the company\u2019s policies and procedures and enduring strict adherence. Also
\nensuring that employee data management is up-to-date and in-line with the company\u2019s policies and procedures. Operations shall include on boarding, staff discipline, maintenance of staff files (hard and soft), and collating payroll data.<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong>
\nSpecifications<\/p>\n

Required Skills and Competencies
\nTechnical: Strong generalist Human Resource expertise (Organizational Design and Development, Employee Relations, Performance and Reward,
\nEmployee Engagement, Change Management, Learning and Development, Resourcing);
\nResourcing: Basic knowledge in insurance principles and insurance business concepts with industry staff experience in the recruitment of technology,
\nunderwriting, risk management and claims;
\nLaw: Must have deep working knowledge of the Country\u2019s Labour Laws;
\nFinancial: Hands-on experience in drawing and managing budget policies, procedures and processes;
\nPolicy Development: Must have demonstrable skills in writing policies, procedures and processes;
\nRelationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, influence, counselling, consulting, negotiation, leadership and conflict resolution. Ability to work under time and people pressure;
\nInformation Technology: Knowledge and experience of Human Resource Information Systems and Microsoft packages;
\nCommunication\/Relationship: Must have the ability to relate to and communicate to people at all levels;
\nAdministration: Must have basic knowledge in sourcing, purchasing and general administration.
\nRequired Knowledge and Expertise<\/strong>
\nA good degree in a relevant field and\/or an MBA in HR;
\nMust have a recognised professional qualification in Human Resources Management or working towards gaining one;
\nMust have a minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience with a minimum of 5 in a management position;<\/p>\n
