AECOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Land and Buildings Site Inspector (LBI)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Business Line<\/strong>\u00a0Transportation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Title<\/strong>\u00a0Land and Buildings Site Inspector (LBI)<\/p>\n<p>Ghana &#8211; Greater Accra<\/p>\n<p>Accra<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Land and Buildings Site Inspector (LBI) reports to the Engineer\u2019s Representative and plays a key monitoring role in the Land and Buildings Works. The LBI will monitor\u00a0<strong>Concrete Works<\/strong>\u00a0in support of the construction of Paving, Utilities, Drainage, MV Power, Buildings, Foundations, and other Works at the designated job site.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The LBI is responsible for actively addressing issues as raised by the project team by providing guidance or resolution either personally or through collaboration with other engineers, quantity surveyors, contracts<\/p>\n<p>specialists and HSEQ specialists.<\/p>\n<p>LBI will be coordinating all Quality Assurance and Quality Control aspects of the works. His duties will include, but will not be limited to, taking particular responsibility for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>review of all designs, contract documentation, design reports and other relevant data, particularly in relation to the achievement and assessment of the quality of the Works;<\/li>\n<li>implementing systems for monitoring of the quality of Materials intended for inclusion and included in the Works, sound methodologies, performance, workmanship and the quality of the completed product;<\/li>\n<li>maintaining close liaison with Resident Engineers and ensuring that they are provided with prompt and<\/li>\n<li>accurate data and\/or opinions on all materials testing and quality control issues;<\/li>\n<li>evaluation of and comment upon the Contractor\u2019s Quality plans, and monitoring the Contractor\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>adherence to these plans, once approved;<\/li>\n<li>establishment and implementation of systems for the inspection and assessment of all Works<\/li>\n<li>constructed and for the acceptance or rejection of individual sections of the Works;<\/li>\n<li>inspection of all materials testing facilities provided by the Contractor and evaluation of the correctness and effectiveness of sampling and testing procedures;<\/li>\n<li>assistance with and advice upon the design, establishment and implementation of the Management Information System;<\/li>\n<li>implementing effective record systems with a special reference to the compilation of as-built records;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring all materials and methods of investigations for compliance with project requirements;<\/li>\n<li>providing advice, assistance and assessment in respect of the supplementary designs and\/or Contractor\u2019s value engineering proposals;<\/li>\n<li>monitoring all aspects of the Contractor\u2019s operations with especial reference to adherence to good practices for health and safety and protection of the environment;<\/li>\n<li>monitor provision by the Contractor of all facilities for the consultant ensuring the rapid preparation and submission of reports and statistical analyses for quality control and advising on the results;<\/li>\n<li>checking details and performance of all trial mixes, (including the effectiveness of any admixtures proposed);<\/li>\n<li>ensuring regular checking of the calibration, accuracy and operation of batching equipment, mixing equipment and testing equipment on Site;<\/li>\n<li>inspecting quarries, and other sources of naturally-occurring materials, supplying materials for incorporation in the works;<\/li>\n<li>supervising and coordinating the activities of Site staff for whom responsible and to keeping them informed on matters which may influence their work;<\/li>\n<li>reporting and contributing to reports and drafting correspondence as appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>keeping a daily diary to record important events;<\/li>\n<li>assisting in the maintenance of full and complete Site records and, specifically, maintaining those records for which responsibility is allocated in the data management system;<\/li>\n<li>attending Site meetings when requested to do so providing support and advice to the Resident Engineer on Civil matters.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating project needs and service delivery with other projects\u2019 senior engineers.<\/li>\n<li>preparation of and verifying the accuracy of periodic (weekly, monthly) and ad hoc reports and project metrics.<\/li>\n<li>contributing to the development of tender and contract documents for interfacing works.<\/li>\n<li>collaborating with the Design Manager in the review of the Design-Build Contractor\u2019s design of the works.<\/li>\n<li>obtaining support from the Quality Manager in implementing the QA\/QC procedures collaborating with the Project Controls staff in assessing progress against the programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working for a consultant is required (3 years minimum).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Building and Port infrastructure works is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working for a contractor is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preparation of technical reports<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of civil construction.<\/li>\n<li>Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Reading and interpreting time schedules for construction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification (Personality Attributes):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focused on project delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>LBI forms part of a larger Construction management team and sound interpersonal skills and team ethic are essential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum BSc or BTech in an Engineering discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Member of a professional
