{"id":27270,"date":"2017-11-08T05:10:56","date_gmt":"2017-11-08T05:10:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=27270"},"modified":"2017-11-08T05:10:56","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T05:10:56","slug":"agdevco-jobs-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/agdevco-jobs-2017.html","title":{"rendered":"AgDevCo Jobs 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are recruiting a qualified Financial Accountant with experience in the corporate sector, and ideally also the non-profit sector, to join our Ghana team, based in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Financial Accountant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Group Financial Controller based in London and the Ghana Country Manager based in Accra, the Financial Accountant will prepare and maintain financial and management accounting information and provide support to the Ghana Country Manager and Group function.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining the books of account and preparing monthly management and annual statutory accounts, for AgDevCo Ghana and one subsidiary company<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining a robust system of internal financial controls based on the AgDevCo Group model<\/li>\n<li>Producing various financial reports and other management information on the performance of the Ghana investment portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Supporting investment teams and investee companies with financial analysis of investee performance and due dilligence appraisals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Detailed duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bookkeeping, payroll, VAT filing and compliance and management of timesheet system<\/li>\n<li>Preparing monthly management accounts with analysis of results and variances versus budget and recommended actions to management<\/li>\n<li>Preparing all audit deliverables including company financial statements, in accordance with IFRS, and management of the audit process in line with Group reporting deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining and enhancing the integrity and efficiency of accounting systems and ensuring sound internal controls<\/li>\n<li>Managing the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Ghana Country Manager<\/li>\n<li>Collating financial information for donor reports in collaboration with investment teams<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring the integrity of the Ghana balance sheet via regular analysis and reconciliation<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with all local statutory filing requirements<\/li>\n<li>Overseeing and supporting office administration duties as required from time to time<\/li>\n<li>Analysing and assessing financial performance of investees based on quarterly financial statements<\/li>\n<li>Assisting investment teams with financial systems reviews and appraisal of investees (existing and pipeline)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Essential<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recognised professional accounting qualification<\/li>\n<li>At least five years\u2019 experience with at least two years\u2019 post qualification experience in a similar role<\/li>\n<li>Experience and understanding of corporate accounting and ideally also not-for-profit accounting<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues in multiple locations<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of IFRS<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Ghanaian payroll and tax legislation<\/li>\n<li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word<\/li>\n<li>Excellent spoken and written English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience within an international organisation<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Aqilla accounting software and Salesforce CRM<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of the needs of an organisation investing in private sector companies along with international development goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are recruiting a qualified Financial Accountant with experience in the corporate sector, and ideally also the non-profit sector, to join our Ghana team, based in Accra.
