It has the vision of being the Ghana\u2019s most celebrated business.<\/p>\n<p>The GGBL market is both developing and fragmented with potential widespread change taking place in the structure of the retail off-trade given the possible licensing of the FMCG retail chains.<\/p>\n<p>The concentration of purchasing power amongst national accounts on off-trade follows the global trend resulting in ever-increasing pressure on pricing, profitability and service.<\/p>\n<p>Mastering of the on-trade is a strategic imperative ensuring maximum influence at port of consumption in this channel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Area Sales Manager &#8211; Mainstream Spirits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To lead, motivate &amp; develop a team of sales professionals in order to deliver stretch brand &amp; portfolio targets &amp; build profitable sales<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Graduate caliber with at least 3 years\u2019 experience of marketing \/ commercial \/ Sales environments<\/li>\n<li>A proven track record in marketing \/ commercial \/ sales functions<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years within a retail \/ FMCG business with an experience in a Leadership position<\/li>\n<li>Strong People management experience<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate (Microsoft office, Automation selling\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Able to identify and articulate customer\/market\/ competitor information to report on &amp; input to future Trade Strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Is able to handle tough situations through advanced negotiation skills and effective, collaborative cross- functional team working.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Manage and develop the Business Units to maximise profit<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Ensure excellent execution of all national &amp; state initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Execute Trading Terms &amp; compliance with business unit<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for growth &amp; executing with scale &amp; pace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Uses expert knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Participate in cross functional insight development &amp; commercial workshops, contributing expert customer &amp; consumer knowledge in order to develop commercial plans &amp; sales activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Develop the capability of team &amp; self<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Recruit, retain &amp; motivate talent within team<\/li>\n<li>Invests 10% of time providing coaching for wholesaler sales team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Achieve targets for all customer &amp; consumer drivers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Manage outlet typing &amp; execute coverage strategy<\/li>\n<li>Ensure team works to the Diageo Standards &amp; execute journey planning<\/li>\n<li>Set &amp; monitor sales driver &amp; activity targets against agreed initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work with Customers to ensure GGBL wins in store<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Executional excellence of trading term agreements<\/li>\n<li>Build compelling sales stories<\/li>\n<li>Challenge Trade Activation team &amp;other business partners to ensure we have the resources necessary to win<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Ensures that the market has a defined contact and coverage strategy as well as account classification (MSS wholesalers are graded A,B,C)<\/li>\n<li>Execute business strategy that establishes guidelines for a ceiling on the percentage of call time spent collecting data which drives focus on key priorities, especially customer facing time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Execute<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li>Execute JP and deliver individual targets in JP per call.<\/li>\n<li>Execute activities per called out mechanic and ensure the success of activity in territory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Guinness Ghana Breweries is a leading brewer and marketer of premium alcoholic and malt drinks in Ghana.
