Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: Head, Banking Operations<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n To direct and oversee the Institution\u2019s operations function relating to central operations, branch operations, and cards\/ electronic banking operations. The Head of Banking Operations will run the day to day operations of the institution and provide effective ways to make the institution more productive through the use of efficient methods within the business. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a member of the Senior Management Team.<\/p>\n Key Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n Developing operational systems, processes and policies to maximize the organization\u2019s output. \nEstablish and review key operational risk indicators\/key control standards and formulate action plans to minimize the Institution\u2019s exposure to fraud and losses.
\nManage the Institution\u2019s operational risk exposure by supporting the Business to identify areas of operational risk exposure and by developing and implementing corrective action.
\nDesign, develop and keep updated the Institution\u2019s Operations Manual and ensure compliance to all operational guidelines, processes and procedures.
\nResponsible for re-engineering business processes to improve customer service, cost effectiveness and controls.
\nEnsure compliance with Regulatory requirements relating to the Institution\u2019s Operations.
\nEnsure that effective documentation is in place, in the form of user guides and implement operational improvements to reduce operational costs, tighten controls, improve service quality and customer service.<\/p>\n
\nMinimum of 5-7 years experience in Banking Operations with at least 2 years in a senior or middle level management role in banking operations in a Finance Institution.
\nDemonstrable experience in effective leadership and people management skills
\nAbility to review\/develop banking operations manual and to see to its implementation.
\nDemonstrable experience in delivering major business process and reengineering projects.
\nKnowledge of banking operations, procedures and policies.<\/p>\n
\nDetailed understanding of operational risk analysis.
\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools.
\nSound knowledge of the regulatory framework of the Banking Industry.
\nKnowledge of Banking Operations, laws, regulations\/ practice.
\nMust demonstrate a high sense of professionalism, diligence and integrity.<\/p>\n
