Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Research Assistant, Programme Assistant (Intern)<\/strong><\/p>\n

CUTS Accra, Internship Positions \u2013 Research Assistant, Programme Assistant
\nCUTS is a non-profit research and advocacy policy think tank based in Accra with mandates to the ECOWAS region (www.cuts-international.org\/arc\/ accra). CUTS works in the areas of international trade and development, consumer protection and consumer safety, governance, competition,
\ninvestment and economic Regulation. CUTS has distinguished itself over the years as an organization that is enable to engage the grassroots, policy makers and non-state actors. CUTS requires two interns (one male and one female) to assist in the areas of research and programmatic activities. Internship position is non-paid. However, interns shall be provided with monthly stipend.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities of the Research Assistants\/Programme Officer would include but not limiting to:
\nBasic research
\nAnalysis of reports
\nNetworking with researchers\/research institutions for managing research
\nCoordination with other NGOs & donors
\nCataloguing & maintaining database & other documentation
\nOrganising events<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

The candidate should be a Masters in Economics\/Development\/Business Communication from an institute of good repute. Candidates with years of experience in social sector, preferably in the area of Trade, Aid and Development, Consumer affairs, Governance, legal, policy & advocacy, having leadership qualities will be preferred.<\/p>\n

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
\nExcellent computer proficiency (MS Office \u2013 Word, Excel)
\nMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
\nAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard
\naccepted practices<\/p>\n

Cover letter of 400 words expressing the interest of application iv. An essay of 800 -1000 words on \u201cThe Role of Government Policies in Addressing Inequalities\u201d.
