Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n Functional Output \/ Duties<\/p>\n Lead geotechnical engineering on services on mining and infrastructure projects Foundations for medium to large projects Participate in training activities, mentoring and transferring knowledge to junior and intermediate geotechnical engineers<\/p>\n Plan, develop schedules, coordinate and direct manpower on important engineering projects to meet completion deadlines Job Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering with at least an MSc Civil \/ Geotechnical Engineering. \nProvide technical advice and consultancy on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff
\nDevelop client relationship and build business in West Africa, particularly Ghana
\nUse advanced techniques, modifications and extension of theories, practices to synthesise and analyse data for decision making\/ recommendations
\nBuild reputation as Technical Leader\/Lead Consultant within the Geotechnical Engineering profession
\nKeep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development
\nManage, analyse and geotechnical reporting for projects which may include the following:<\/p>\n
\nEarthworks, ground improvement and development
\nProblematic soils
\nProvide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating\/ eliminating high priority safety hazards<\/p>\n
\nSupervise, coordinate and review\/evaluate activities carried out by junior engineers and intermediate
\nPrepare proposals and reports for clients
\nConduct field visits in Africa
\nProject Management & Technical Expertise
\nDevelop ownership culture
\nPromote and develop inter-region and inter-office collaboration and cooperation
\nContribute towards a healthy team mentality among peers
\nWork with operational leadership to deliver Golder\u2019s strategy

\nManage debtors in accordance with Golder\u2019s targets
\nHealth & Safety
\nPromote and uphold Health & Safety systems and program priorities
\nAct as and custodian of Golder\u2019s Health and Safety best practice
\nHealth and safety performance indicators in line with Golder\u2019s targets<\/p>\n
\n10 – 15 plus years\u2019 experience post-graduation.
\nGeotechnical Experience in a consulting firm, and experience in West Africa, would be a plus.
\nFrench language is an added advantage
\nExposure to mining and industrial projects
