Ho Technical University, formerly Ho Polytechnic, is a public tertiary institution in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Polytechnic started in 1968 as a technical institute with the primary goal of providing pre-technical education. By 1972, the Institute made tremendous progress and upgraded its courses. In 1986, the institution was upgraded into a Polytechnic. However, it was not until 1993 that it got full backing of the law (Polytechnic Law 321) to become a fully-fledged tertiary institution, charged with the responsibility of training students to the Higher National Diploma (HND) and Degree Levels.<\/p>\n

PROFESSORS<\/strong>
\nA candidate seeking appointment as Professor must:
\nPossess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
\nHave served for at least four (4) years as an Associate Professor.
\nHave at least Twenty (20) publications in refereed journals since appointment as a lecturer, at least five (5) of which should have been published after promotion to Associate Professor.
\nMust be a member of a recognized and relevant professional body.
\nProvide other evidence of research\/invention\/innovation
\nEvidence of industry experience<\/p>\n

ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS<\/strong>
\nA candidate seeking appointment as Associate Professor must:
\nPossess a PhD in the relevant field of specialization.
\nHave taught for a minimum of four (4) years as a Senior Lecturer.
\nHave at least fifteen (15) publications in refereed journals since appointment as a Lecturer; at least five (5) of which should have been published after promotion to Senior Lecturer.
\nMembership of a recognized professional body.
\nProvide other evidence of research\/professional activity\/products\/ invention.
\nEvidence of industry experience<\/p>\n

SENIOR LECTURERS<\/strong>
\nA candidate seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must:
\nPossess a PhD or a Research Masters degree equivalent to MPhil degree in the relevant field of specialization.
\nii. Have taught for a minimum of four (4) years as a Lecturer;
\nCandidate must have at least eight (8) publications in refereed journals
\nMembership of a recognized professional body.
\nProvide other evidence of research\/professional activity\/ products\/invention\/innovation.
\nEvidence of industry experience<\/p>\n

LECTURERS<\/strong>
\nA candidate seeking appointment as Lecturer must:
\nPossess a PhD or a Research Masters degree equivalent to MPhil degree in the relevant field of specialization.
\nHave some appreciable industrial experience or skills in Competency Based Training (CBT).
\nMembership of a recognized professional body.<\/p>\n

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LECTURESHIP POSITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Successful candidates will be expected to teach, research and offer any other academic and administrative services to the University and its publics.<\/p>\n

SENIOR\/ASSISTANT REGISTRAR<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Senior\/Assistant Registrar shall serve as Legal Officer in the Office of the Registrar and shall be responsible for all legal matters of the University. He\/she shall handle all aspects of the University\u2019s legal services including litigation, property, commercial law, legal policy issues, intellectual property and corporate legal advice to the University administration.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Senior\/Assistant Registrar position is of a Senior Member Status in the University. Thus, candidates must be holders of a Masters Degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
\nCandidates must have a valid Legal Practicing Certificate and must be a Member of the Ghana Bar Association
\nHe\/she must have ten (10) years post-qualification experience as a lawyer
\nHe\/she must have sound knowledge of the tertiary education landscape and be current in the following fields of law: commercial, contract, procurement, employment and equality, property, regulatory compliance, educational law, information rights and intellectual property.<\/p>\n
