Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health (MatCH) is a division of the Wits Health Consortium under the School of Public Health of the University of the Witwatersrand. MatCH is a consortium partner implementing the EQUIP project. EQUIP is an international grant to implement projects in five key solution areas \u2013 innovative models of ART service delivery; innovative approaches to support viral load scale-up; strategies and technologies to more effectively identify and link patients to treatment, foster ongoing adherence and retention; identify approaches that respond to the needs of key populations and promising \u201cTest and Start\u201d strategies in countries in Africa, South East Asia and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n

\nSupport National and local health authorities; and Implementing partners with technical assistance and assist with strategic development.
\nReviewing and strengthening of current practices within the program, planning, management, implementation and reporting of changes and updates.
\nReview patient care systems, evaluate current improvement plans, participate in audits to ensure adherence to standards.
\nStaff Management.
\nParticipate in stakeholder meetings, events and campaigns.
\nSelf-management and performance ownership.
\nLead the team in evaluating clinical skills and needs and responding with support to design systems.
\nProvide capacity building, training and mentoring to improve service delivery at sites
\nProvide operational solutions and site specific training.
\nResearch and development.
\nRequired minimum education and training<\/p>\n
\nDrivers licence and willingness to travel.
\nMinimum work experience
\nMinimum 5 years public sector experience.
\nProfessional body registration
\nRegistered with the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.
\nDesirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
\nPostgraduate degree in Public Health or related medical field preferred
\nSound technical knowledge and experience in clinical management of HIV including Paediatric treatment and care; TB and STIs; PMTCT, TB-HIV
\nintegration and other co-infections.
\nExperience in clinical trials and clinical oversight to research protocols.
\nKnowledge of national and regional health structures.
\nExperience working in a donor funded organisation \/ NGO or project-based environment.
\nKnowledge of clinical systems and data management.
\nAble to exercise discretion and independent decision-making.
\nAbility to prioritize own work load, take initiative
\nExperience in training, material development and quality improvement.
\nExceptional organisational and administrative skills together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
\nAble to work under pressure; attention to details and adhere to deadlines.
\nOrdered and systematic in approach to tasks; adaptable and flexible..
\nAbility to function and operate strategically with sound clinical and business acumen.
\nSelf motivated, able to work independently and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Able to speak local languages.
