{"id":29095,"date":"2018-02-21T12:41:11","date_gmt":"2018-02-21T12:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=29095"},"modified":"2018-02-21T12:41:11","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T12:41:11","slug":"aecom-vacancies-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/aecom-vacancies-2018.html","title":{"rendered":"Aecom Vacancies 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Senior Site Engineer \u2013 Marine (SSEM) is part of the construction supervision group and focuses on the marine works sector of the programme.<\/p>\n<p>SSEM supervises construction by the Design-Build contractor who is executing the marine works under a FIDIC Yellow Book contract.<\/p>\n<p>SSEM reports to the Engineer\u2019s Representative for Marine Works who reports to The Engineer. If so requested by the Project Director, SSEM may be required to deputise the Marine Works ER during holidays\/absences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior Engineer \u2013 Marine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SSEMis responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raising concerns to the attention of the Engineer\u2019s Representative<\/li>\n<li>Participating in progress meetings with contractors<\/li>\n<li>Supervising the work of the contractor with particular attention to HSE, quality, project progress, progress payments and changes.<\/li>\n<li>Alerting the Engineer\u2019s Representative of change in project progress, potential changes and the need for decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Supporting the implementation of the Quality Management System<\/li>\n<li>Supporting preparation of periodic (weekly, monthly) and ad hoc reports and project metrics.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the project controls and commercial teams in assessing impacts of proposed changes of scope, schedule and cost.<\/li>\n<li>Participating in project\/program risk assessment activities and reviewing a project-level risk register.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the Design Manager in the review of the contractor\u2019s design of the works.<\/li>\n<li>Obtaining support from the Quality Manager in implementing the quality assurance procedures<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the Project Controls staff in assessing progress against programme and earned value.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with and supporting the quality control inspectors in attending the contractor\u2019s requests for inspections. Assign tasks and oversee tasks being carried out by the inspectors\/surveyors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 10 years of experience on marine works construction sites<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure industry<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the employ of a construction contractor is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Specific skills required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications<\/li>\n<li>Ability to implement quality assurance systems in the field<\/li>\n<li>Ability to recognize worksite hazards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Specification (Personality Attributes):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Focused on project delivery \u2013 attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality or work permit) is an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate in Civil Engineering or related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of concrete technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What We Offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people.
