\/>\nleadership qualities for appointment to the position of<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>DIRECTOR I.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Generally responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of government-approved pre-tertiary educational policies and<br \/>\nprogrammes at the regional or national levels of education at the direction of the DIRECTOR-GENERAL<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical advice for the Director-General on matters relating to pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the regional or\u00a0national level of education.<\/li>\n<li>Lead and coordinate the implementation of pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the regional or national level of education.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the assessment of the implementation of pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the regional or national level of education<\/li>\n<li>Lead the development of systems for monitoring and evaluation of policies and programmes at the regional or national level of education<\/li>\n<li>Exercise oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of human and financial resources of GES at the regional\u00a0and national level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Terms of Appointment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to serve a minimum of three (3) years on appointment beforereaching the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60) years<\/li>\n<li>Salary and conditions of service as laid down by GES<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A serving certified professional teacher in GES<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of four (4) years working experience in administration in the grade of Director II<\/li>\n<li>Satisfactory work history, proven performance and exemplary\u00a0conduct<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of a Master\u2019s degree in Educational Management or any related field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Emotional stability and ability to cope with pressure<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of the operations of GES<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicant should complete six (6) copies of an application form(available at the Regional Education Office) to each one of which should be affixed a recent passport size photograph.<br \/>\nEach set of application forms must be accompanied by a STAFF PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL REPORT by the applicant&#8217;s Regional \/ Divisional
