Winrock International is currently recruiting for the position of full-time Nutrition Specialist in its Tamale office to support the five-year, USAID-funded Feed the Future Ghana Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Project (USAID AgNRM).<\/p>\n
AgNRM seeks to provide a scalable, integrated landscapes approach to support sustainable economic development and rural livelihoods, improve nutritional outcomes, expand climate change related risk management options, and strengthen northern Ghana\u2019s natural resource base. As part of this, AgNRM is supporting community-based natural resource management in the Black Volta Basin and in the Western and Eastern Biodiversity Corridors.<\/p>\n
The project activities are being implemented within the Forestry Commission\u2019s Community Resource Management Area (CREMA) framework under four project outcomes: 1) Increased Incomes from Natural Resource Products; 2) Improved Food and Nutritional Security; 3) Increased Farmer and Community Security\/Access to Land and Natural Resources; and 4) Strengthened Environmental Stewardship.<\/p>\n

\nPOSITION TITLE: Nutrition Specialist
\nSTATUS: Full time
\nREPORTS TO:Food Security and Nutrition Specialist<\/p>\n
\nContribute to the development of training materials, tools and facilitate training on nutrition and improving household resilience;
\nClosely collaborate with the behavior change communication (BCC) team in planning, implementing and monitoring of nutrition activities and interventions;
\nBuild technical capacity at the district and CREMA levels to assist the districts in developing an approach to guide the implementation of nutrition interventions;
\nEnsure effective linkages and integration of activities with the other AgNRM components, including agriculture, value chain activities, natural resource management and improving CREMA governance capacities;
\nCoordinate and collect data and complete written reports on nutrition on a regular basis;
\nAnticipate challenges in project implementation, identify solutions, and work with the team in problem-solving;
\nOther duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
\nMinimum of Bachelor\u2019s degree in nutrition, agronomy, agriculture, or related fields.
\nWork Experience
\nMinimum five years of professional experience in nutrition, food security, or agriculture sectors, including extension\/education experience.
\nExperience in agriculture\/food security projects.<\/p>\n
\nAbility to work well within a team and take responsibility to deliver results.
\nExcellent data collection, collation and reporting skills.
\nExcellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.
\nFluency in English required. Fluency in one of the local languages spoken in AgNRM\u2019s Zone of Influence is a plus.
\nComputer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel, is required.
\nWillingness to relocate to Tamale, Ghana.<\/p>\n
