Winrock International is currently recruiting for the position of full-time Nutrition Specialist in its Tamale office to support the five-year, USAID-funded Feed the Future Ghana Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Project (USAID AgNRM).<\/p>\n
AgNRM seeks to provide a scalable, integrated landscapes approach to support sustainable economic development and rural livelihoods, improve nutritional outcomes, expand climate change related risk management options, and strengthen northern Ghana\u2019s natural resource base. As part of this, AgNRM is supporting community-based natural resource management in the Black Volta Basin and in the Western and Eastern Biodiversity Corridors.<\/p>\n
The project activities are being implemented within the Forestry Commission\u2019s Community Resource Management Area (CREMA) framework under four project outcomes: 1) Increased Incomes from Natural Resource Products; 2) Improved Food and Nutritional Security; 3) Increased Farmer and Community Security\/Access to Land and Natural Resources; and 4) Strengthened Environmental Stewardship.<\/p>\n

\nREPORTS TO: Food Security and Nutrition Specialist<\/p>\n
\nLead training of AgNRM staff on farmer-managed natural regeneration and live fencing techniques.
\nConduct spot checks and quality assurance on farmer-managed natural regeneration and live fencing activities throughout the AgNRM implementation area.
\nCoordinate farmer-managed natural regeneration and live fencing activities across AgNRM\u2019s Zone of Influence.
\nEffectively link and integrate activities with the other AgNRM components, including agriculture, value chain activities, natural resource management and improving CREMA governance capacities.
\nCoordinate or collect data and complete written reports on farmer-managed natural regeneration and live fencing implementation on a regular basis.
\nAnticipate challenges in project implementation, identify solutions, and work with the team in problem-solving.
\nOther duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

\nRequired Skills or Experience<\/p>\n
\nWork Experience
\nMinimum five years of professional experience in natural resource management or agriculture in the agricultural and natural resources sectors, including agriculture research, livestock experience, and extension\/education experience.
\nExperience in agriculture\/food security projects.<\/p>\n
\nAbility to work well within a team and take responsibility to deliver results.
\nExcellent data collection, collation and reporting skills.
\nExcellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.
\nFluency in English required. Fluency in one of the local languages spoken in AgNRM\u2019s Zone of Influence is a plus.
\nComputer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel, is required.
\nWillingness to relocate to Tamale, Ghana.<\/p>\n
