\n\u2022 Set standards for nursing and midwifery practice in consultation with Nursing and Midwifery council
\n\u2022 Evaluate nursing and midwifery practices towards the improvement of nursing and midwifery services
\n\u2022 Promote the establishment and monitoring of quality assurance systems for nursing and midwifery services in the hospital
\n\u2022 Provide technical advice on planning nursing and midwifery manpower needs of the hospital
\n\u2022 Ensure the equitable distribution of nursing and midwifery personnel in the hospital
\n\u2022 Provide overall responsibility for monitoring and evaluating performance of nurses and midwives in the hospital
\n\u2022 Provide leadership and mentorship to inspire nurses and midwives for future development
\n\u2022 Ensure the development and implementation of policies and standards on nursing and midwifery
\n\u2022 Ensure effective dissemination of information on nursing and midwifery matters to staff in the hospital
\n\u2022 Plan succession in the nursing and midwifery services of the hospital
\n\u2022 Initiate action on the employment process for nursing and midwifery personnel
\n\u2022 Submit regular and annual reports on nursing and midwifery activities to the Chief Executive
\n\u2022 Ensure the welfare of nursing and midwifery personnel in the hospital
\n\u2022 Coordinate and contribute to research and development activities in nursing and midwifery
\n\u2022 Establish and promote networks with local and other international nursing and midwifery organisation
\n\u2022 Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for nursing and midwifery services in the hospital
\n\u2022 Advise the Chief Exective and management on nursing and midwifery matters
\n\u2022 Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Executive<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 A minimum of 3 years working experience at the level of Deputy Director of Nursing services or a minimum of 8 years of Pincipal Nursing\/Midwifery Officer
\n\u2022 Evidence of continuing professional development and training in leadership and management
\n\u2022 Experience of policy and standards development
\n\u2022 Good computer literacy and skills
\n\u2022 Good flair for writing reports on the job
\n\u2022 Research experience<\/p>\n
