Its economic growth has enabled innovative businesses to flourish and this is where Jumia steps in.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently looking for talented people with a passion for emerging markets and Africa to join our team and embark on our exciting journey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Head of Accounting<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Main responsibilities:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Managing and maintaining the financial accounting system, and all accounting processes including daily accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash collection, GL, payroll, bank reconciliation and tax filings ;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the business financial results, the preparation of the budgets, financial reports and analyses and supporting the analysis of financial results to the executive leadership team and Partner group ;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all country legal, regulatory and tax reporting requirements ;<\/li>\n<li>Support in the design of policies and processes for internal control in order to minimize business risk and comply with local and internal accounting standards;<\/li>\n<li>Developing country\/product specific policies and procedures to improve overall operation\/effectiveness .<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>Requirements Skills &amp; Qualifications:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a02 \u2013 4 years\u2019 experience as an accountant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Degree and local accounting qualification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge and experience of processing receivable and payables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience of making statutory filings for local taxes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience with basic accounting systems like NAVision, QuickBooks or sage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Experience with monthly reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Potential to manage closely a team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external affiliates and clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
