Job Title:\u00a0Bar Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Main Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Responsible to Head of Department\/ Assistant Head of Department.
\n\u2022 Responsible for Assistant Bar Manager, Bartenders, Barmen \/ Barmaids, Host \/ Hostess.
\n\u2022 Set an example by reporting to duty punctually wearing business attire according to the hotels dress code & Kempinski grooming standards, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
\n\u2022 Provide a professional and courteous service at all times and ensure that all employees of the assigned outlet follow the example.
\n\u2022 Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organised at all times.
\n\u2022 Execute and demand the team to execute the highest level of service and set-up standards at all times.
\n\u2022 Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered by the hotel.
\n\u2022 Understand thoroughly the concept of the bar and train all employees of the outlet in regards to the concept.
\n\u2022 Set an example in terms of service and products knowledge.
\n\u2022 Prepare the bar menu design in cooperation with the bartending team and Chef Sommelier \/ Sommelier.
\n\u2022 Organise tastings of new menus.
\n\u2022 Have an excellent understanding of beverages in general including ingredients and techniques to ensure the right beverage \/ cocktail \/ spirit can be recommended.
\n\u2022 Have an excellent understanding of both classic and modern cocktails, their recipes and history.
\n\u2022 Accomplish all internal cocktail trainings by the hotel as well as support external trainings and workshops.
\n\u2022 Be involved in the overall wine sales of the hotel including all areas such as banquet events, Minibar, In Room Dining.
\n\u2022 Participate in supplier meetings to negotiate beneficial agreements for the hotel or respective areas to ensure the best possible prices.
\n\u2022 Know and understand the social scene of the destination, being recognized in the market as well as understanding night life.
\n\u2022 Hold monthly trainings to the Food & Beverage team to ensure product knowledge is fostered.
\n\u2022 Develop cocktail specials, signature drinks and foster creativity and innovation within the bartending team.
\n\u2022 Perform up selling for all items offered by the department assigned as well as offering alternatives.
\n\u2022 Be knowledgeable to operate the existing POS system based on the trained responsibility level as assigned in the department.
\n\u2022 Produce reports and analysis of the outlet and present report in the monthly performance meeting.
\n\u2022 Lead the outlet efficiently in cost and expenses, constantly delivering the highest quality as well as driving high top line revenue and profit.
\n\u2022 Assist in preparation of the outlet\u2019s budget.
\n\u2022 Conduct monthly inventory of operating supplies and equipment together with the stewarding department.
\n\u2022 Obtain an account for the correct settlement of all sales and be overall responsible for outlet floats when and as required.
\n\u2022 Identify errors and correct them as required during set-up, service and breakdown of operations.
\n\u2022 Implement a flexible work schedule based on business patterns.
\n\u2022 Establish a pool of qualified and trained full and part time employees in conjunction with the hotel\u2019s People Services Department.
\n\u2022 Ensure an effective payroll control through a flexible work force maximizing the utilization of part time employees and closely cooperating with other Food & Beverage departments.
\n\u2022 Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
\n\u2022 Attend and contribute to all staff meetings, departmental trainings and hotel initiated trainings.
\n\u2022 Attend all required trainings as described by the department.
\n\u2022 Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to employees on preparation, guest profile, service and menu served.
\n\u2022 Report incidents that require disciplinary actions immediately to the Head of Department.
\n\u2022 Prepare and review all departmental operations manual updates annually in accordance with the Assistant Head of Department.
\n\u2022 Constantly improve the product quality by sourcing the best available products.
\n\u2022 Support activities and cooperation with the suppliers.
\n\u2022 Monitor and constantly improve quality and guest satisfaction of the outlet with the given tools (Leading Quality Assurance, Customer Satisfaction Survey).
\n\u2022 Organise all required outlet specific trainings as described by the department.
\n\u2022 Undertake reasonable tasks and secondary duties as appointed by the Head of Department.
\n\u2022 Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the hotel management.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Handle guest enquiries and complaints in the outlet in a courteous and efficient manner and report to Head of Department \/ Assistant Head of Department ensuring that the follow up is performed with the guest.
\n\u2022 Ensure that the opening and closing procedures established for the outlet are followed.
\n\u2022 Act as Food & Beverage Duty Manager during the absence of the Food & Beverage Head of Department and Assistant Head of Department.
\n\u2022 Assign responsibilities to subordinates implementing a multi-tasking principle and check their performance periodically.<\/p>\n

Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.
\nDesired Skills and Responsibilities
\n\u2022 Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management or related field or MBA
\n\u2022 Minimum 2 years in F&B management role, preferably with a 5* Hotel chain.
\n\u2022 Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
\n\u2022 English \u2013 excellent oral and written skills
\n\u2022 Additional language \u2013 beneficial
\n\u2022 Supervisory skills
