The Marketing and Origination team was created to provide expert resources in pursuit of a range of more complex and longer-term transactions that will be required in support of Global Book strategies. These transactions will be marketed to third parties and will involve a combination of physical, risk management and financial elements.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Managing Director & IST Head of Country<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Origination (HMO), West Africa the Managing Director and IST Head of Ghana (\u201cHG\u201d) will be accountable for leading the origination and structuring efforts for Marketing & Origination (M&O) transactions in Ghana and suporting the HMO WAF for origination activities in West Africa for oil. In doing so, he\/she will ensurethat origination activities are rigorously executed in accordance with Group and IST standards, supporting the approval and assurance process undertaken by commercial development, and the interaction with the IST support functions.<\/p>\n

The HG will work alongside a Head of Ghana Origination based in Ghana and also work closely with the rest of the M&O Team in London and Nigeria delivering these opportunities. The HG will have primary responsibility for managing Government and parastatal relationships in Ghana, including licensing and regulatory bodies. The HG will support the Head of Ghana Origination, who will have primary responsibility for driving commercial growth as well as for relationships with Bulk Distribution Companies (BDC\u2019s) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMC).<\/p>\n

Through an active participation in the Leadership Team of the HMO WAF the HG will support the shaping of the M&O regional agenda, supporting the interaction with the Regional Business Lead and the linkage to the bench trading strategies.<\/p>\n

Role is accountable for driving commercial transactions, from inception, through negotiation, internal approval and contract execution, as well as operationalisation. Individual needs to bring an extensive external regional network in the energy sector, a proven track record of deal execution, with strong multi-tasking capability and proven commercial accumen and in depth expertise in West Africa Oil, LNG and Gas, capable of dealing with a range of commercial issues and deal matters.<\/p>\n

Key accountabilities include:<\/p>\n

* Managing key target regional relationships across the energy sector and leading IST in Ghana
\nLeadership in sourcing, originating and delivering commercial transactions, showing rapid decision making, commercial insights and deal structuring, with a clear understanding of finance.
\n* Provide the origination team with high quality and insightful evaluation on potential revenue and capital investment decisions ensuring deals are consistent with Group Policy and providing peer support to others
\n* Ensuring maintenance of Origination hoppers for WAF opportunities
\n* Support and \/or lead deal approval process in coordination with Commercial Development team
\nSupport linkage to functions (legal, compliance, Finance, Tax, Planning) to address any deal issues and ressolve obstacles
\nProvide and share market intelligence and information flows to the trading benches
\nIdeal individual will have a track record of covering the West African region as a whole with a strong focus on Ghana.
\n* Ensure adherence with the Code of Conduct
\n* Assure adherence to legal and regulatory environment in which the origination business operates<\/p>\n

Key Criteria:<\/p>\n

The candidate is expected to work with minimal supervision based in Ghana and to network independently with team members. The position offers an excellent opportunity to lead the IST\u2019s activity in Ghana and apply commercial and business development skills, develop leadership and strategic thinking skills while expanding networks within the commercial and technical disciplines.<\/p>\n
