World Vision has been working with urban and rural communities in all the 10 Regions of Ghana to improve provision of water, promote sanitation and hygiene practices and quality education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>World\u00a0Vision is looking for highly qualified and motivated persons for the position of Water Sanitation &amp; Hygiene Specialist to be based in the\u00a0Head Office.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\nTo provide technical support and advice to ADPs and the National office, on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program strategy, design, monitoring and evaluation and government and donor coordination; in order to achieve the overall WVG National strategy and to ensure sustainable transformational development as per approved policies, systems, procedures and donor requirements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to proposal writing and grant acquisition effort in the National Office<\/li>\n<li>Develop and\/or review the National\u00a0Office WASH Strategy and Operating Plans for delivering on the child well-being aspirations<\/li>\n<li>Lead capacity development of ADP staff in all areas related to the WASH sector including technical aspects, hygiene promotion and project management<\/li>\n<li>Develop or adapt and disseminate appropriate community mobilization\/animation methodologies that ensures children, women and persons with disabilities participate in WASH activities<\/li>\n<li>Promote advocacy around larger water sector issues in the country and in ADP communities<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual National Office-level WASH sector reports<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance to ADPs in preparation of project work plans and budgets, and participate in negotiating contracts for procurement of WASH materials and services<\/li>\n<li>Promote cross-learning, training, best practices and sharing of experience in the National Office<\/li>\n<li>Ensure quality control through monitoring and evaluating of programs and also by giving technical advice, ensuring that objectives are reached and that indicators are measured throughout the program life cycle<\/li>\n<li>Network with government and UN agencies; research and academic institutions and other NGOs and represent WV at key sector meetings, forums and events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in social\/behavioral sciences, public health or other development areas. Masters or higher degree is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Five years working experience in the WASH sector and good understanding of industry standards and trends<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing<\/li>\n<li>Strong management training and capacity building skills<\/li>\n<li>Good planning and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of MS\u00a0Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Good communication and strong interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>The preferred candidate must be a committed Christian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants who meet the above criteria should send their application letters and CV to\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:Ghana@wvi.org\">Ghana@wvi.org<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>As a Child focused organisation, World Vision is committed to the protection of children and does not employ staff whose background is not suitable for working with children.
