Our programs are facilitated by more than 550 international staff and 15,800 local volunteer Coaches.The Africa Regional Office located in Kampala, Uganda, supports 8 country offices including; Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Training Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Supervisor Title:<\/strong>\u00a0Country Manager<\/li>\n<li><strong>Job Family:<\/strong>\u00a0DPM<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0All Countries<\/li>\n<li>Region\/Department\/Office: All Regions<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grade:<\/strong>\u00a06<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Direct Reporting Lines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training Assistant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Indirect Advisory Responsibilites<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incumbent is expected to provide advice to partners in relation to capacity building and the use of RTP resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Training Officer reports directly to the Country Manager and technically to the Regional Training Officer where applicable and is responsible for ensuring quality of training provided by the Right To Play team through capacity building. The incumbent supports the development and implementation of organization\u2019s resources and training program in the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Training and capacity building\n<ul>\n<li>Conducts needs assessment, evaluates the skills of the team and recommends the appropriate training.<\/li>\n<li>Develops annual training plan to enhance staff skills and builds their capacities in line with the RTP country plan.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts training sessions in child protection, gender, human rights and other related subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Supports Field Facilitators, Coach Trainers, Coaches and Junior Leaders in identifying the community needs and ensures RTP activities are aligned with project plans and proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Trains Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers in RTP resources and supports the certification process of Coaches and Coach Trainers.<\/li>\n<li>Works with Field Facilitators, partners and Coach Trainers to develop weekly, monthly and annual Coach training schedules for all project locations.<\/li>\n<li>Oversees Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers when they train Coaches, and ensures that all trainings are modified and aligned with proposals and work plans.<\/li>\n<li>Works with Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers to evaluate training workshops and submits evaluation reports to the CM.<\/li>\n<li>Works with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer to ensure Field Facilitator and Coach Trainers are trained on using qualitative and quantitative monitoring tools as well as performance assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains records of the training database as well as the training library for the benefit and use of the team.<\/li>\n<li>Formulates terms of reference for external training when needed, evaluates the training providers and recommends the appropriate one.<\/li>\n<li>Trains education officials on how to observe and support teachers.<\/li>\n<li>Coaches and mentors the Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers and provides inputs on training reports developed by them.<\/li>\n<li>Develops together with Program Manager and partners a context specific to the continuum of training and provides technical inputs on the delivery of related training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Activity planning and implementation\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures Project Officers, Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers have a clear activity plan and works with them to develop and implement activity schedules for children in all project locations.<\/li>\n<li>Together with Field Facilitators, encourages and supports Coach-led and community led initiatives in all project locations<\/li>\n<li>Conducts regular follow-up visits of all project locations to ensure training plans and implementation aligns with project proposal; supports project team in developing workshops to best fit the requirement and projects in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures integration of partner organization activities into RTP activities and vice versa.<\/li>\n<li>Supports Field Facilitators in regard to training logistics in all project locations.<\/li>\n<li>Provides feedback on new resources and recommends changes based on country context.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the integration of training, capacity building and resource development components in proposal development.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the development of the country annual plan to ensure that training and capacity building are designed to meet program outcomes in line with proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Supports the development and dissemination of best practices related to the country programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain partnerships\n<ul>\n<li>Represents RTP and has regular consultations with Field Facilitators, Coach Trainers, local partner organizations, stakeholders and key beneficiaries in all project locations in regards to training and RTP tools.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Planning And Organizing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The incumbent is expected to set his\/her own work plan in line with country plan. The incumbent is also expected to support the Field Facilitators and Coach Trainers in developing their activity plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education\/Training\/Certification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in social studies, project management, adult education or other related discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years\u2019 experience in developing and implementing training sessions some of which should have been in senior level working with NGOs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies \/ Personal Attributes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong assessment and evaluation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to understand audience and adjust training to their level<\/li>\n<li>Strong facilitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with children, youth leaders and adults<\/li>\n<li>Coaching and feedback skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Computer literacy in MS Word, Power Point, Excel and Internet<\/li>\n<li>Understanding adult learning concepts<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of monitoring and evaluation methods and tools<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of different training techniques<\/li>\n<li>Understanding the concept of Sport for Development<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the community needs<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Children\u2019s Rights, Gender and HIV\/AIDS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fluency in spoken and written English and local language(s).
