Founded in 1945, CARE has been fighting global poverty and defending the dignity of people around the world, working in over 90 countries around the globe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CARE started operations in Ghana\u00a0<\/strong>in 1994 and have for the past 23 years, has partnered government agencies, multinational and Civil Society organizations to undertake interventions in the areas of education, food and nutrition security, financial inclusion, women\u2019s empowerment, governance, among others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Project Director<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CARE International in Ghana is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of\u00a0<strong>Project Director\u00a0<\/strong>to support an anticipated four-year USAID-funded Project aim at Empowering Women and Girls in the Cocoa Supply Chain in Ghana.\u00a0 The objective of the project is to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls within the Cocoa sector.<\/p>\n<p>Two key intended outcomes the project are:\u00a0 (1) improved economic participation by women and girls vulnerable to child labor, forced labor, and\/or other violations of labor rights within the cocoa sector chain; and (2) Improved business practices by private sector actors to protect against child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls working within the cocoa supply chain.<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>J<\/strong><\/u><strong>ob Summary<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Project Director will provide leadership of the project and will be accountable for delivering the project results. S\/He will ensure effective project management, partnerships and technical support for the implementation of the project. The successful candidate should possess significant experience managing program, financial, and operations of USAID- or other international donor-funded projects. This position is subject to the funding\/award decision of USAID which will be made known by 30th November 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee the completion of all technical requirements, including project results and deliverables, in accordance with the project work plan.<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain productive working relationships with USAID, project partners, and key stakeholders. Serve as the primary liaison among all project stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the project\u2019s operational, financial, and administrative priorities; direct the planning and budgeting processes. Create or adapt management systems in line with CARE\u2019s standard operating procedures, ensuring consistency with project needs.<\/li>\n<li>Build partnerships among relevant project stakeholders, including producer groups, CSO and other private sector players\/ actors in the sector.<\/li>\n<li>Design and oversee an annual project cycle in accordance with USAID\u2019s annual planning cycles<\/li>\n<li>With staff and partners, translate project goals and objectives into implementable strategies and plans. Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual project activity reports, M&amp;E reports, and other deliverables, as specified in the agreement. Report against the project\u2019s targets.<\/li>\n<li>Represent the project at high-level meetings, conferences, and another forum.<\/li>\n<li>Guide team members to fulfill the project\u2019s strategic goals and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and mentor senior staff, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
