{"id":31883,"date":"2018-07-26T20:43:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-26T20:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=31883"},"modified":"2018-07-26T20:43:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-26T20:43:00","slug":"2018-vacancies-at-gimpa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/2018-vacancies-at-gimpa.html","title":{"rendered":"2018 Vacancies At GIMPA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Student Counselor shall lead and coordinate systems and operations of the Counseling Unit and ensure students\u2019 welfare within the framework of GIMPA\u2019s Statutes and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Student Counsellor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate shall hold office for a term of three (3) years in the first instance and may be reappointed for a further term of up to three (3) years only, subject to satisfactory performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting Relationship<\/strong><br \/>\nThe successful candidate shall report to the Dean of Student Affairs of the Institute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the Counselling Unit of the Student Affairs Office.<\/li>\n<li>Provide psycho-social counseling to students.<\/li>\n<li>Provide career counseling to students.<\/li>\n<li>Develop systems to respond to issues of gender-based violence, including sexual harassment on campus.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Dean of Student Affairs by coordinating effective resolution of student complaints at the Schools &amp; the Academic Registry.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate in the production of a quarterly newsletter for students, as well as other publications relevant to the work at the Student Affairs Office.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research on issues that are relevant to the Institution.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate sessions at programmes where your knowledge and expertise are needed on campus.<\/li>\n<li>Serve on committees as may be required by the Institute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Masters in Counseling or related course of study from a reputable institution.<\/li>\n<li>At least five (5) years of full-time working experience in a similar role.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant experience in teaching and counselling in a tertiary institution would be an advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><br \/>\nThe candidate must have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High level of interpersonal and communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deal with students from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds;<\/li>\n<li>Strong people management skills;<\/li>\n<li>Creative and professional approach to counselling;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications with CV, cover letters, vision statements, copies of transcripts and certificates should be emailed to\u00a0recruitment@gimpa.edu.gh\u00a0July 31, 2018.<\/li>\n<li>Prospective applicants should also arrange for letters of recommendation to be e-mailed directly from three (3) referees to the above emai address by July 31, 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Student Counselor shall lead and coordinate systems and operations of the Counseling Unit and ensure students\u2019 welfare within the framework of GIMPA\u2019s Statutes and policies.
