Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Position title:<\/strong>\u00a0Project Director<\/strong><\/p>\n Nature and Scope:<\/strong> The project objective is to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls working within the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) sector in Ghana. The project will aim to achieve the following outcomes: (1) improved economic participation by women and girls vulnerable to child labor, forced labor, and\/or other violations of labor rights within the ASM sector; and (2) improved business practices by private sector actors to protect against child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights for vulnerable women and girls working within the ASM sector. The Project Director will be responsible for the overall implementation of the initiative, including administrative, technical, and management responsibilities, and to be the primary point of contact for the donor during program planning and implementation. The Project Director will oversee coordination with various actors related to the initiative, including relationships with stakeholder organizations and subcontractors, national and local government bodies, civic society organizations and representatives of beneficiary groups.<\/p>\n The Project Director will also oversee the sound financial management of project funds according to the requirements of the donor. The position will be based at WUSC\u2019s office in Accra, Ghana with frequent travel domestically, as well as infrequent international travel as related to project activities, coordination and management.<\/p>\n This position is contingent upon the receipt of donor funding.
