\n\u2022 Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, medications\/solutions needed
\n\u2022 Assists surgeons and assistants in wearing the gowns and gloves
\n\u2022 Passes instruments and needed items to Surgeon during surgical procedures
\n\u2022 Assists with draping of sterile field
\n\u2022 Maintains highest standards of Sterile Technique during procedures
\n\u2022 Prepares and applies Sterile dressings for wound closure and to surgical wounds
\n\u2022 Assists with cleaning and preparing of Instruments for Sterilization
\n\u2022 Acts as a second assistant to sponge or suction operative site
\n\u2022 Acquires the appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedure
\n\u2022 Opens sterile supplies on the sterile field
\n\u2022 Administers medication intra-operatively
\n\u2022 Receives patient for surgery and conducts the pre-operative Checklist (i.e. checks patient charts, identifies patient, correct site verification, verifies surgery to be performed with consents, and brings patient to assigned OR)
\n\u2022 Prepares patient skin prior to draping by surgical team
\n\u2022 Properly handles specimen for pathology as per protocol<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 A registered member of Nurses and Midwife Council.
\n\u2022 Certificate & experience in Peri-Operative Nursing
\n\u2022 Experience in the theatre a major advantage<\/p>\n
