International Justice Mission (IJM) is a fast growing international organization working to protect some of the most vulnerable and oppressed people from violent forces of injustice by securing rescue and restoration for victims and ensuring public justice systems work for the poor. IJM is seeking a talented social worker to serve as the Aftercare Casework Manager to develop and manage IJM Ghana\u2019s aftercare services for child survivors of forced labor trafficking and their primary caregivers.<\/p>\n

This position is based in Tamale, Ghana and reports to the Director of Casework, IJM Ghana.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Aftercare Casework Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Support government and non-governmental agencies to provide the following crisis care and case management services:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Immediate crisis care, advocacy and assessments for children coming out of forced labor trafficking situations and ensuringall victims receive legally mandated government protections.
\n\u2022 Assisting IJM multidisciplinary teams and law enforcement officers in conducting child-sensitive interviews with victims and witnesses regarding forced labor trafficking that can be utilized in ongoing investigations, legal proceedings, and aftercare assessments.
\n\u2022 Engaging, preparing and supporting victims and witnesses throughout judicial proceedings in partnership with multidisciplinary teams of advocates and care providers.
\n\u2022 Assessment of child survivors\u2019 needs, strengths and support networks to determine appropriate psychosocial interventions.
\n\u2022 Facilitate the placement for child survivors into approved shelter facilities for immediate protection and care.
\n\u2022 Completion of comprehensive needs assessments, including family and community assessments; toward the safe reunification of a survivor to his or her family and home community.
\n\u2022 Development and implementation of short and long term treatment plans reflecting services needed to ensure the continued welfare and safety of the child survivor, based on the assessed needs of the child and his or her primary caregivers.
\n\u2022 Development and implementation of strategies for the provision of direct assistance to survivors and their families in cases where aftercare stakeholders are unable or unwilling to address critical needs.
\n\u2022 Supervision and guidance to shelter partners on best care practices in supporting child survivors\u2019
\n\u2022 Thorough documentation and monitoring of service provision and progress of participants within IJM\u2019s internal electronic database (CTMS).<\/p>\n

Program and Partner Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide guidance to partners in the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures to combat human trafficking in Ghana.
\n\u2022 In collaboration with the Director of Casework, develop and implement a model for provision of reunification services for child survivors of forced labor trafficking and their primary caregivers in accordance with standards set by the Department of Social Welfare.
\n\u2022 Develop and maintain a network of collaborative partnerships within key program areas that are equipped to serve the holistic needs of IJM aftercare participants, including service providers in the areas of health, education, income generation, protective services, mental health, basic needs (i.e. food, housing) and other relevant needs.
\n\u2022 Develop a framework for sustainable working relationship with partners and maintain working relationships with existing partner organisations (working on trafficking).
\n\u2022 Explore opportunities to bring new potential partners; shelters into the network.
\n\u2022 Assist the Director of Casework in assessing the gaps in comprehensive survivor aftercare service availability and implementing solutions to address these gaps.
\n\u2022 Identify training and resource needs for aftercare partners and facilitate provision of critical trainings and resources within resource constraints and office priorities for the efficient delivery of support services to victims.
\n\u2022 Carry out regular and robust monitoring of the Aftercare program to ensure quality delivery of outputs and activities; ensure effective evaluation of the program through visits and reports from partners.
\n\u2022 Report on the outcomes and impact of the program internally to assist with programme development
\n\u2022 To liaise with other staff members in the Field Office to strategically manage and deliver programs which are part of our goals.<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Master\u2019s Degree in mental health field; social work or psychology degree preferred.
\n\u2022 Minimum five years of relevant experience in provision of case management services, implementing psychosocial assessments and interventions.
\n\u2022 Experience working with survivors of trauma and ability to provide service interventions in a trauma-informed manner.
\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with children and their caregivers, the indigent and otherwise vulnerable individuals.
\n\u2022 Experience in building and sustaining collaborative partnerships with other social service providers.
\n\u2022 Ability to motivate social service partners to work at their full potential
\n\u2022 Working knowledge of the Northern region will be an advantage
\n\u2022 Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
\n\u2022 Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; fluency in Dagbaani
\n\u2022 Driver\u2019s License preferred.<\/p>\n
