{"id":32779,"date":"2018-08-30T15:47:31","date_gmt":"2018-08-30T15:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=32779"},"modified":"2018-08-30T15:47:31","modified_gmt":"2018-08-30T15:47:31","slug":"university-of-ghana-recruitment-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/university-of-ghana-recruitment-2018.html","title":{"rendered":"University of Ghana Recruitment 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Ghana is looking for dynamic, versatile and suitably-qualified persons to join the team at its re-structured Internal Audit Directorate, in the following Administrative\/Professional position\u00a0in the Central Administration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0 Internal Auditor \/ Internal Auditor with Quantity Surveying Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>REPORTING TO<\/strong><strong>:\u00a0 Director, Internal Audit Directorate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Includes, but not limited to detecting and preventing of fraud; testing internal controls; and, monitoring compliance with institutional policy and government regulations.<\/p>\n<p>This is to ensure that there is a fit for purpose and proactive compliance procedure which focuses on minimizing risk exposure whilst identifying opportunities to reduce potential negative incidents and losses as well as improve efficiencies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The University of Ghana Environment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Academic work at the University of Ghana is organised in four colleges which have units across the Legon campus, Korle-Bu campus, Accra City Campus, the Research Centres in Kade, Kpong and Nungua as well as Learning Centres on sites in all the Regional Capitals.\u00a0 Academic work is supported by a Central Administration, providing institution-wide services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be required to assist the Director of Internal Audit, University of Ghana, in his\/her duties. \u00a0He\/she will also be responsible for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leading a College audit team<\/li>\n<li>Conducting risk assessment of assigned department or functional area in established\/required timeline;<\/li>\n<li>Establishing risk-based audit programs;<\/li>\n<li>Determining scope of review in conjunction with the Director of Audit;<\/li>\n<li>Reviewing the suitability of internal control design;<\/li>\n<li>Conducting audit testing of specified area and identifying reportable issues and dimension of risk;<\/li>\n<li>Determining compliance with policies and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Verbally communicating findings to senior management and drafting comprehensive and complete report of audit area;<\/li>\n<li>Appraising members of an audit team;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring appropriate and sufficient audit documentations are kept;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring adherence to the University\u2019s Audit Charter;<\/li>\n<li>Identifying and communicating control weaknesses and recommending solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The requirements for appointment to the level of Internal Auditor are normally a first degree and\u00a0<strong>either<\/strong>\u00a0a Master\u2019s Degree in a relevant discipline\u00a0<strong>or<\/strong>\u00a0an equivalent professional qualification, with a\u00a0<strong>minimum<\/strong>\u00a0of two years financial experience, through public accounting\/auditing and\/or industry experience.<\/li>\n<li>Appointment may be made to the level of Junior Internal Auditor.
