The project, set to be implemented in Ghana, will contribute to the country\u2019s National Malaria Control Strategic Plan 2014-2020 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are currently seeking dynamic individuals to join the team on the implementation of malaria service delivery activities in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The project will operate over a five-year period.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Undertake the day to day management of the Finance and Administrative departments, with under the leadership of the Director of Finance and Administration<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Accounting and Finance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains sound accounting records<\/li>\n<li>Reviews payment requests<\/li>\n<li>Reviews sub-grantees payment requests<\/li>\n<li>Ensures customer and vendor information is accurate and up-to-date<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely clearing of staff advances<\/li>\n<li>Prepares monthly payroll<\/li>\n<li>Ensures appropriate VAT reporting and claims<\/li>\n<li>Prepares journal entries<\/li>\n<li>Prepares monthly QuickBooks reporting files to be submitted to Impact Malaria HQ by the required due date<\/li>\n<li>Prepares month-end balance sheet reconciliations<\/li>\n<li>Responds to monthly due diligence action items<\/li>\n<li>Ensures timely filing of tax returns and payments to tax authorities<\/li>\n<li>Ensures proper filing of accounting records<\/li>\n<li>Ensures appropriate controls are in place to safeguard assets, records, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates the work of internal and external auditors<\/li>\n<li>Supervises team members in Finance and Administrative departments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cash and Banking<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Closely monitors banking transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and ensures timely clearing of deposits and uncashed payments<\/li>\n<li>Prepares monthly average exchange rates<\/li>\n<li>Reviews expenses from petty cash\u00a0 and ensures compliance with local and global\u00a0 petty cash policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Conducts regular unannounced petty cash counts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budgeting \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists program team in developing work plans and annual budgets for program activities and local office costs<\/li>\n<li>Monitors budget utilization in close coordination with country management and program staff<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the preparation of local activity budgets<\/li>\n<li>Ensures appropriate tracking of expenses<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place and adhered to prevent over or under spending.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participates in the conduct of periodic inventories<\/li>\n<li>Participates in the preferred vendor selection process<\/li>\n<li>Participates in fixed assets verification exercises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience<\/li>\n<li>Five years of experience in financial management of international NGOs<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyze financial data, create and track budgets, and maintain financial management systems<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of local taxation applicable to NGOs<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of US government cost principles, especially USAID, CDC,<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of GAAP and grant\/contract management<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of the Office package (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel PowerPoint, Word)<\/li>\n<li>In-depth working knowledge of QuickBooks and other relevant accounting softwares<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral
