\nPerform supporting operational tasks (such as reporting, check list completion etc.) associated with crane operations, by following established processes.
\nManipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement, according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
\nLift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects within the limitations of the size of crane being utilized.
\nLoad and unload trucks according to requirements.
\nPlace blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
\nOperate crane according to signals from spotters and \/ or riggers.
\nAccomplish work objectives by determining own work schedule, coordinate with support services and assign short-term tasks to riggers, if necessary.
\nPerform monthly inspections on the machines, document and file them.
\nCarry out task preparations and assist with basic maintenance and repair of cranes, following detailed instructions.
\nMake sure all load tests and certifications are up to date to comply with minimum legal requirements.
\nMake sure that the cranes and equipment are in a safe working condition.
\nComplete job cards, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
\nDeliver own prescribed outcomes and \/ or provide support services, by applying Newmont\u2019s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.
\nInspect the equipment to check and identify any basic risks.
\nExecute all crane operations in a safe manner.
\nMinimise the potential risk for personal injury or equipment damage by rigorously following established SOP\u2019s and STP\u2019s<\/p>\n
\nCrane Operator certification\/licenses.
\nMINCOM Operator certificate of competence advantageous.
\nKnowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
\nKnowledge of crane operation and rigging standards.
\nMinimum of 5 years crane operation experience in a mining plant or similar environment.
\nCommunication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
\nCrane calibration for correct lifting with load cell.
\nOperation of crawler and RBT\u2019s crane for lifting of heavy equipment.
\nOperation of overhead hoist for lifting heavy equipment around mill area, for e.g. motors, pinions, gearboxes.
