The Librarian shall be responsible for the leadership and general administration of the Institute&#8217;s Library in respect of human, financial and material resources within the framework of GIMPA&#8217;s Statutes and policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of responsibilities:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Successful candidate shall report to the Rector. He\/she shall:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Manage employees, products, services and goals of the expanding library of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement an overall strategic plan for the development of the Institute&#8217;s library<\/li>\n<li>Build on existing resources and services to create a modern library which would respond to teaching, research and learning programmes of the Institute<\/li>\n<li>Recommend and implement systems that would create a seamless extension of the library that provides scholars with access to evaluated, organized, archived, and preserved information in any format<\/li>\n<li>Supervise a smooth transition of old products and services to new ones<\/li>\n<li>Create effective cross-departmental working relationships and assist both in-house and outside scholars and with world class library services<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Key Performance Indicators:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan and implement short and long term goals<\/li>\n<li>Establish an enabling infrastructure and lead a rapidly growing library<\/li>\n<li>Build and implement modern library systems<\/li>\n<li>Design work processes to match human resource development<\/li>\n<li>Supervision and training of staff<\/li>\n<li>React efficiently to new challenges and needs of senior management<\/li>\n<li>Understand critically the full process of modern library management and to cope with complex and varied responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> Attractive with meaningful benefits&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A Ph.D or Masters Degree in Library Science\/Information Management or related field<\/li>\n<li>Relevant professional qualifications<\/li>\n<li>Ten\u00a0to fifteen (10-15) years in academic library management or, Five-Seven (5-7) years in a relevant senior management\/supervisory capacity<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of library\u00a0practice from traditional\u00a0management systems to modern portal technology<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge\u00a0of library management and\u00a0evidence of ability to create and lead an academic library<\/li>\n<li>Strong management,\u00a0team and business-process\u00a0building ability<\/li>\n<li>Proven record of scholarly work (authorship of\u00a0books, Journal articles, professional practice manuals, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Interested applicants may submit their application, including their most recent Curriculum vitae and academic certificates to the following address:<\/p>\n<div><strong><br \/>\nThe Human Resource Manager<br \/>\nGhana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA)<br \/>\nP.
