{"id":3380,"date":"2011-05-11T01:11:19","date_gmt":"2011-05-11T01:11:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=3380"},"modified":"2013-12-26T16:17:43","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:17:43","slug":"assistant-manager-legal-affairs-newmont-ghana-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/assistant-manager-legal-affairs-newmont-ghana-jobs.html","title":{"rendered":"Assistant Manager, Legal Affairs: Newmont Ghana Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<h2>Legal Affairs\u00a0Assistant Manager, : Newmont Ghana Jobs<\/h2>\n<p>Newmont Ghana Gold Limited a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation, one of the World&#8217;s largest gold mining companies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The successful candidate will report to the Director, Legal Affairs and will provide in-house legal counsel and\/or advice and represent the organization on various legal issues that affect the operations of the Newmont entities, including mining law, employment issues, contracts, statutory obligations and litigation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist Manager, and Director, Ghana Legal Affairs in providing in house legal counsel<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the company has compiled with all statutory and legal requirements<\/li>\n<li>Represent the company in court and various commissions on labor issues and land compensation matters<\/li>\n<li>Become familiar with and strictly adhere to Newmont&#8217;s Health, Safety and Environmental standards. Act as a role model in complying with and supporting these standards and practices<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with geological department to ensure that the company&#8217;s leases\/licenses have been renewed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive<br \/>\n<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a minimum of first degree qualification in Law plus a professional law qualification<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of legal research techniques, contract, drafting, and interpretation<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years of practice in the private and\/or public sector, preferably working as in-house legal counsel in Ghana or internationally in the mining sector with some experience in diverse range of legal issues with emphasis on transactional practice such as industrial relations law and general corporate practice<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage heavy workload and high &#8211; pressure environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>If you would like to be considered for these position, please send your application letter and current CV with references, indicating your e-mail address, telephone contact information to the address below:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>The Human Resource Manager<br \/>\nNewmont Ghana Gold Limited<br \/>\nP.
